Market prices and filters

The current show-matching behavior is available in Wahventory Refresh Fork 20.0.0.9 and later.

Sidebar filters

Control Behavior
Market price > [threshold] Show items priced strictly above the threshold.
Market price < [threshold] Show items priced strictly below the threshold.

Both use gil per item, matching the Price column. Stack totals are not compared. Market price < 500 shows unit prices below 500 gil even if the stack total exceeds 500 gil. Market price > 1000 shows unit prices above 1,000 gil.

Equal prices do not match that condition. With both enabled, either match includes the item; for the examples above, prices below 500 or above 1,000 appear. Unknown prices cannot prove a match and are excluded while a price filter is active. Other safety filters still apply.

Checkboxes and threshold inputs stay disabled until all requests for the current inventory, selected world and price method settle. The sidebar shows progress. Saved price filters pause during refresh, and discard cannot bypass that wait. With no active price filter, unknown prices appear as No data.

Defaults are off, with thresholds of 1,000 gil above and 100 gil below. Reset turns the price filters off. All on enables them only when prices are ready.

Settings

Open Settings > Market Prices > Price method:

Method Estimate
Lowest current listing The lowest available listing for the selected world and exact normal/HQ quality. This is the default.
Average sale price (4 days) Quantity-weighted sales over the current UTC date and preceding three dates, rounded up to whole gil. No sale data means unavailable, even if listings exist.

Both methods use Universalis, a crowdsourced market-data service. Refreshing retrieves its latest snapshot; it does not cause a new in-game market-board scan. The service can have stale or missing data. Universalis explanation, API documentation.

The four-day average follows Universalis's aggregate sales calculation. Universalis aggregate implementation.

No independent second provider is included. FFXIVMB's published API documents uploads rather than a supported price-read endpoint; other services may also use Universalis underneath. Changing the price method is clearly distinguished from changing the provider. FFXIVMB public API.

Reading prices

Hover over a price to see:

  • The selected world and normal/HQ quality.
  • The pricing method.
  • Market upload: the selected world's timestamp supplied by Universalis.
  • Fetched: when Wahventory downloaded the result.

A recent fetch does not mean a recent market upload. If the upload timestamp is missing, the tooltip says so. Unknown or failed responses never become a zero-gil price. Failures retry sooner than valid cached prices; the toolbar refresh forces a new request.

Normal and HQ rows and caches are separate. Prices never silently fall back to another quality or data center. Manual world selection persists until the character actually changes worlds. A selected stack cannot pull a price-excluded normal or HQ stack of the same item into a discard queue.
