minecraft-mcp connects an AI client, such as Claude, to your Minecraft server. It runs next to the client, talks to the WorldAPI plugin on a Paper server, and gives the agent tools to look at the world and, if your token allows, to change it. This wiki walks you through it one step at a time.
- Installation: what you need before you start.
- Connect your client: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or Other clients (VS Code, any stdio client, HTTP).
- Configuration: environment variables and command-line flags.
- Tokens and permissions: which WorldAPI token fits which job.
- Tools: every tool, what it does, and the permission it needs.
- Example prompts: what to ask and how the agent answers.
- Security: what keeps a live server safe.
- Troubleshooting: when something doesn't work.
