Cursor

Cursor starts minecraft-mcp with npx, so you need Node.js 22 or newer.

  1. Create .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project.

  2. Put this in it, with your URL, token, and player name:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "minecraft": {
          "command": "npx",
          "args": ["-y", "@mairwunnx/minecraft-mcp"],
          "env": {
            "WORLDAPI_URL": "http://localhost:8110/api/v1",
            "WORLDAPI_TOKEN": "your-token",
            "WORLDAPI_PLAYER": "Steve"
          }
        }
      }
    }
  3. Open Cursor's settings, then MCP, and check that minecraft is on and lists its tools.

  4. Ask the agent “what's the weather in the overworld?”.

To try Moonlands instead, set WORLDAPI_URL to https://minecraft.mairwunnx.com/worldapi/api/v1 and leave the token out.

Next: Tokens and permissions.
