One Content tab: mods, resource packs, shaders and datapacks each had a tab of their own. They now share a single Content tab with a picker above the list — All, Mods, Resource packs, Shaders, Datapacks — and everything that used to work for mods only now works for all of them: the search box, the sortable columns, Update all, and a count next to each kind. Packs left as a plain folder instead of a .zip are listed too.
Instance settings behind a gear: settings are no longer a tab you scroll past — the gear next to Game folder opens them, so the tabs are only the things you actually browse. The window keeps one height whichever section you are in.
Build an instance icon in the launcher: click an instance's icon in its settings and pick Create icon. Choose a background, choose a symbol, or press Randomize until something fits; the preview shows it at the sizes it will really appear in. Add your own takes any image and keeps it, so your own symbols sit first in the list the next time. The same editor is there when you create an instance, and Upload icon still takes a file straight from disk.
Shortcuts on your desktop: Create shortcut — in an instance's ⋯ menu and in the right-click menu in your library — puts a shortcut on the desktop carrying that instance's name and icon (on macOS, its name). Double-click it and the launcher starts if it is not already running, opens the instance and launches the game.
Play straight from the library: hover an instance card and a play button appears over its icon. One click and the game starts — no need to open the instance first. While it is installing or already running the button shows that instead.
The version you are on is marked: changing the mod loader and picking other now marks the loader version the instance already uses and starts on it, instead of an empty box.
Dialogs say what they are about to do: changing a mod's version tells you the file you have now is replaced, the mod-list export lists the placeholders it understands, and creating a group mentions that it only rearranges your library.
🐛 Bug Fixes
Clicking an instance opens it: a click sometimes did nothing at all — the smallest twitch of the mouse while pressing counted as the start of a drag, and the launcher swallowed the click on purpose so dragging a card never opened it. A card now has to actually move before it becomes a drag.
"Open location" opens the folder the file is in: the button in the Logs tab, and the same one for screenshots, opened your home folder instead. It now opens the right folder with the file selected.
The window moves while a dialog is open: dragging the title bar did nothing whenever any dialog was open, and so did minimise and close. All three work now.
Change loader is no longer hidden behind settings: opening it from instance settings drew it underneath the settings window, and once that was sorted, its version list opened underneath the dialog itself.
A mod conflict no longer hides your mods: when the launcher spotted a conflict, the warning replaced the entire list instead of sitting above it.
