All four companion mods are required — the mod refuses to start if FTB Chunks or Lightman's Currency is missing entirely, and NeoForge itself blocks loading if FTB Library/Teams/Chunks or Lightman's Currency are below their listed minimum version.
If Xaero's World Map (and the FTB Chunks x Xaero's Compat addon) are also installed client-side, claimed chunks, regions, ownership, and marketplace listings show up directly on the World Map — see Features. This integration is entirely optional: it's never required to start the mod, and is built to degrade gracefully (log a warning once, then quietly disable itself) rather than crash if a future Xaero update changes something underneath it.
- Missing FTB Chunks or Lightman's Currency → the mod refuses to start and the log names exactly which one is missing.
- FTB Chunks or Lightman's Currency present but at a different exact version than this mod was built against → the mod still starts, but logs a warning. This is usually harmless for a patch-level release; open an issue if something actually breaks.
- FTB Library/Teams below their minimum version → blocked by NeoForge's own dependency resolution before this mod even loads.
- Xaero's World Map → never checked or required, just logged if present (see above).
- Download the mod jar and place it in your
mods/folder. - Install FTB Library, FTB Teams, FTB Chunks, and Lightman's Currency (versions above) into the same
mods/folder. - Start the server (or single-player world). The config file is generated automatically on first launch at:
config/lc_ftb_hook-server.toml - Tune the config to your liking — see Configuration.
- In-game, follow Getting Started to walk through claiming your first chunk and setting up protection.
Both sides required. Install the mod on every client as well as the server — it registers custom network payloads and client-side UI (info panels, region/marketplace screens).
