What's new

• Updates now come from the releases of github.com/Mannai/EPDF. Help > Check for Updates reads this page from now on. On a Linux .deb, "Open Download Page" opens the release here.
• The Windows installer has a new look, with Epdf pictures on its welcome, finish and inner pages.
• The license agreement now names Epdf as the licensor (agreement version 1.1). The rest of the terms are unchanged. On Windows the installer shows it before installing; on Linux Epdf asks you to accept it again the next time it starts.

Updating

• 1.0.8 updates itself to 1.0.9: Help > Check for Updates, or wait for the daily check.
• 1.0.7 and older can't update on their own. Install 1.0.9 once from https://epdf.ing; your settings, library and signatures are kept.

New in 1.0.8

• Updates from the public release channel. Epdf now looks for updates here. Betas are offered newer betas. As before, nothing is downloaded until you choose Download, the update installs when you close Epdf, and Help > Check for Updates Automatically turns the daily check off.
• Coming from 1.0.7 or earlier? Those versions can't find this update. Install 1.0.8 once from epdf.ing; later updates are then offered inside the app. Your settings, library and saved signatures are kept.
• Linux packages: a .deb and an AppImage, tested on Ubuntu 26.04 (64-bit). The AppImage updates itself like the Windows app. The .deb tells you when a new version is out and opens its download page, so you install it with your package manager. Saved signatures are protected by the desktop keyring (GNOME Keyring or KWallet).
• New contact addresses in the license agreement: support@epdf.ing for help, sales@epdf.ing for commercial licenses. The terms are unchanged.
• Reduce File Size: text in trimmed fonts now looks the same on Linux as on Windows.
• The MSI is now named Epdf-<version>.msi, like the other downloads.

• End User License Agreement shown by the installer (and under Help > End User License Agreement).
• Copy and paste placed items with Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V: shapes, stamps, text boxes, notes, drawings, Fill & sign items and signatures.
• Delete pages from the thumbnails: select one or several (Ctrl+click, Shift+click) and press Delete or Backspace; Epdf asks first.
• Tidier dialogs: Page marks, Redact, OCR and Protect with Password keep rarely used settings under Advanced options.
• File menu on the start screen greys out what needs an open document.
• Help > License and Help > Third-Party Notices.

Arabic OCR and in-place Arabic text editing, editable Fill & sign items with a lock-or-keep question on save, smooth dragging, placement previews, Arabic stamps and typed signatures, and only "Open with Epdf" on PDFs in Explorer.
