Boar 0.6.1
Boar is a video editor with a multitrack timeline and AI that runs on your PC. This version makes heavy videos scrub smoothly and shows Remove Silences' cuts right on the timeline.
Alpha. It is already good for real editing, but it is young: save often and report what goes wrong.
New in 0.6.1
- Proxies for videos that are slow to seek. Screen recordings often have a keyframe only every few seconds, so every jump in the preview had to decode hundreds of frames and the picture went black for a moment. Boar now spots these videos (and anything bigger than 1440p) when you import them and makes a light copy in the background, with your graphics card. The preview plays the copy, renders always use the original. On an 8-minute 1080p60 recording, jumps went from about 200 ms to 20 ms and frame stepping from 150 ms to under 10 ms; the proxy took about a minute and a half.
- Project Media shows the progress and a Proxy badge. Right-click a video to create or delete its proxy; Options › Proxies for Videos Slow to Seek turns them off.
- Proxies are kept in Boar's own folder and deleted after 30 days without use.
- No more black frames while seeking: the preview keeps the last picture until the new one is ready.
- Remove Silences shows its cuts on the timeline: the window no longer covers the timeline, and the pauses it will cut appear in red on the video and audio tracks while you adjust the settings.

With Boar 0.4.0 or newer installed, the update arrives by itself at the next start (or Help › Check for Updates). The installers are not signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen and macOS warn the first time: the README explains how to continue.
Captions and Transcript need FFmpeg with the whisper filter (see the README). On macOS and Linux the usual FFmpeg packages don't include it yet.

Novità in 0.6.1
