A brand-new installer, and a small change to how the app opens.

The new setup experience

Installing Filesmith no longer looks like a beige wizard from 2003. Setup is now a frameless window playing a soft video loop with the type set straight on the picture - four screens (welcome, location, install, finish), drawn and hit-tested by hand, ported from Prism's installer kit. (#14, #15)

Under the look, two real fixes:

  • Honest progress. The old installer's bar filled up, snapped back, and froze for a minute before finishing - which read as a hang. Files now extract straight into the install folder, so the bar fills exactly once and full means done. Installs complete in about half the time.
  • The finish screen offers Run / Start-menu / Desktop choices (and deliberately no "start with Windows" - a file toolkit has no business in your autostart).

Opening the app

Filesmith now always launches into the first tab (Images) instead of wherever you left off - but every category still remembers its own last operation, so Images reopens on Generate if that's where you were, and Video comes back to its remembered sub-page when you switch to it. (#16, #17)

Install: download Filesmith-Setup-x64-0.2.2.exe below and run it (per-user, no admin needed). Windows SmartScreen may warn on the unsigned installer - choose "More info" -> "Run anyway".
