Chattering for Android: alpha. Your Chattering on your phone, from anywhere, over an encrypted link to your own computer.

Install

  1. Download Chattering-android.apk below on your Android phone and open it. Android asks you to allow installs from your browser, and may warn that the app is unknown: it is not on the Play Store yet.
  2. On your computer: Chattering → Settings → Machines → Add a device.
  3. Scan the code with the phone's camera. Without the app, the page offers it: the first tap downloads it and copies the code; install it and open it, and it offers to pair (or tap the page's button again). With the app, the code opens in it; the app can also scan codes itself.

Already had an earlier Chattering app on this phone (a test build)? Uninstall it first: this one is signed with the release key, and Android refuses to update across keys.

Not yet in this alpha: downloads and background notifications over the encrypted link (both work with a direct server address); updates are not automatic: come back here for new versions.
