ApplyPilot 0.6.0
What's new
- Contextual Home: current-page actions, tracking counts and explicit application resumption. Startup no longer forces the last or sole ongoing application; leaving an application never marks it submitted.
- More useful discovery: job/listing/unknown link classification, job-only default view, targeted Google queries, local platform badges and separate platform/discovery-method filters. Existing entries are retained, not deleted.
- Experimental public LinkedIn connector: bounded anonymous requests and in-panel cards, with inert HTML parsing, cancellation, cooldown and no cookies, account access, redirects or retries.
- Letter provenance: requested model/effort before and during generation, reported provider/model saved afterward, explicit unknown attribution for older letters, and retained provenance after manual edits.
- Draft protection and fixes: generation preserves entered instructions; application switching/regeneration protects unsaved drafts; delayed letter/PDF operations preserve concurrent tracker changes.
Important LinkedIn limitation
The public guest endpoint is undocumented and not a reliable or officially supported integration. An initial anonymous probe returned HTTP 200 and ten individual links; subsequent connector validation received HTTP 429 and stopped without retry or bypass. Structured extraction and UI behavior were tested with synthetic fixtures, not a successful later live connector run. LinkedIn's automation restrictions remain relevant. Publishing this release does not establish live reliability or permission for additional automation.
Pi reports the model, but does not report the effective reasoning effort. The UI therefore labels the saved effort as requested, without displaying or retaining private reasoning blocks.
Upgrade safely
- Save panel drafts before updating; open-panel draft retention does not cover extension reloads.
- Update the checkout, stop the ApplyPilot server, run
npm ciinsideserver/, then restart the server. This release adds a pinned HTML parser dependency. - In
chrome://extensions, reload ApplyPilot, then reopen its panel. Do not reload Workday or remove/reimport the extension.
Catalog compatibility: reads accept schema 1 without modifying it. The first mutation makes an exact private schema-1 backup and writes schema 2. Version 0.5.0 cannot read schema 2; rollback requires restoring the appropriate private backup while the server is stopped, not simply changing the schema number.
Validation
- 382 passing checks across version/localization, pi subprocesses, catalog/parser/HTTP, browser/content and actual-extension fixtures.
- An initial publication run hit a screenshot timeout; fixture capture was foregrounded and the full suite then passed.
- Tests and screenshots use fictional data and fake pi/HTTP responses; no provider quota or live LinkedIn requests were needed for this publication run.
- Eight private profile/config/catalog/application/journal files remained unchanged and excluded from Git.
- Existing release tags remain unchanged.
