Proofpage 0.3.0 — Keep the file, search the contents

  • Save original PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF bytes, preview images, and export original-file bundles.
  • Offline image OCR, selectable PDF text extraction, and OCR for scanned PDF pages. Desktop downloads include engines and models.
  • Save a public image or PDF directly from the companion, without downloading it first. Requires companion 0.3 and app 0.3; the store's submitted 0.2.2 package is still separate.
  • Watch image/PDF URLs hourly and import media from watched folders. Changed captures preserve original bytes, extracted text, history, and receipts.
  • Bundles include page-level extraction methods and the original SHA-256. Failed extraction retains the file.

See Media and automation for limits. Extraction is local, bounded to 20 pages/500,000 characters/90 seconds, and may contain OCR errors. Public file collection does not use browser login cookies. Keep the app running for schedules.

Verified downloads

Runtime commit: 097f46a773fa6c9ec100cbc03a1834d42743124e. All ten CI jobs passed, including 122 tests on Python 3.11/3.13 and packaged OCR/PDF smoke tests on all four desktop targets.

Both Mac downloads are Developer ID signed, notarized, stapled, and Gatekeeper-verified. Final signed builds also passed native startup, OCR, and PDF extraction locally (Intel through Rosetta). Apple silicon requires macOS 14+; Intel requires macOS 13+.

Apple notarization IDs:

  • Apple silicon: 7e798f1f-7c5a-47cc-a057-18f59874d229
  • Intel: 46225192-3414-4284-89c7-20a04041e664

Windows remains unsigned. The browser companion ZIP is a developer/manual-install package, separate from the Chrome Web Store version awaiting review. A fresh real Chrome popup test of its 0.3 controls was blocked by browser automation policy; script/API and app UI tests passed.

Download the ZIP for your Mac chip, extract it, drag Proofpage.app to Applications, and open it. No Python setup is needed. Back up your workspace before upgrading. SHA256SUMS.txt covers every attached package.
