Proofpage 0.5.0 — business context and reproducible evidence

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 21:48

Proofpage 0.5.0 adds reviewed business context and reproducible evidence for AI workflows. Download, extract, and open the desktop app; Python is bundled.

  • Build business profiles from selected evidence. Keep your own business, customer material, references, and writing examples separate. Review source passages, export Markdown/JSON context, and reject stale context after sources change.
  • Record exactly which excerpts you supplied to an output, replay them offline, and identify outputs affected by changed evidence. The app, 36 local MCP tools, CLI, Python/Node SDKs, and GitHub Action expose this workflow.
  • Connect selected Google Docs using read-only OAuth, PKCE and the operating system credential vault. Confirm owner permission before keeping local snapshots. OAuth libraries are bundled; client configuration is still required while the shared Google project remains in Testing. Google API snapshots are for personal context and are rejected by the training workflow in this release.
  • Install the bundled skill into a Codex or Claude project through the CLI without overwriting a custom skill. The desktop also offers skill download/copy and a real local MCP check.
  • Optional self-hostable read-only remote MCP resource server with OAuth token validation. Requires your own HTTPS host and compatible authorization provider. No live hosted ChatGPT/Claude web connection is activated by this download.
  • Fix WACZ root-URL replay in ReplayWeb.page while leaving signed capture receipts unchanged. A fresh archive was rendered with the official ReplayWeb.page 2.5.3 viewer in Chrome.

Back up your private Proofpage/data folder, quit the old app, and replace the application files. The existing library remains in your user folder. Schedules require the app to remain open. Google tokens are stored separately in the OS vault and are not included in database backups. Training exports prepare datasets; they do not train weights or alter ChatGPT/Claude account memory.

Windows remains unsigned and requires Edge WebView2. Linux requires a graphical desktop and WebKitGTK 4.1. Mac downloads are published only after Developer ID signing, Apple acceptance, stapling, and Gatekeeper assessment.

Application source: d9f4753. Release CI: https://github.com/Mehxeo/Proofpage-OpenSource/actions/runs/39168109639. Source validation: 162 Python tests, companion/preferences JavaScript checks, real Node-to-Python integration, and official MCP client/HTTP tests. Packaged tests cover native startup, bundled Google OAuth, MCP calls, image OCR, and scanned-PDF extraction. See SHA256SUMS-0.5.0.txt for final archive hashes.

Mac notarization records (Developer ID team 44HHGAZ2C4):

  • Apple silicon: 7d2e1702-4b96-45e6-a6d3-4dcbcac93e72 — Accepted.
  • Intel: bdde4461-ead3-4193-be5e-5ce78851006e — Accepted.

Both app bundles carry stapled tickets and pass Gatekeeper assessment. All 10 release CI jobs passed, including native builds and packaged smoke tests on each supported platform.

Proofpage 0.4.0 — native Tauri desktop

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 16:50

Proofpage 0.4.0 — native Tauri desktop

Proofpage now opens in its own native Tauri window, with the existing local evidence engine, offline image OCR, PDF extraction, original-file storage and MCP helper bundled inside. Python and a terminal are not required.

  • Removed the Local workspace sidebar badge.
  • App updates in Settings checks the latest stable GitHub release and offers the matching platform download. This is a guided download-and-replace flow, not automatic installation.
  • Existing evidence stays in the same home-folder Proofpage/data directory. Quit the old app before opening this version; back up your workspace first.
  • Closing the native window stops the engine after active work completes. Keep the app open for scheduled collection.
  • External links open in the default browser; evidence stays in the native window. Downloaded files go to Downloads without overwriting existing files.

Mac releases are signed and notarized before publication. Windows packages remain unsigned and require Microsoft Edge WebView2. Linux requires WebKitGTK 4.1 and a graphical desktop (Ubuntu 22.04+ with libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0).

Chrome Web Store approval is separate from this desktop release. Local MCP works with compatible desktop/coding clients; it is not a ChatGPT web connector. Training workflows prepare reviewed datasets, not model weights.

Migration and validation

Your existing evidence library is reused. Appearance preferences previously saved in an external browser are separate from the new native webview; choose them once in Settings.

Runtime commit: 9586cc3381f03d35901984815fdbb5ffa0a4bbdc. Release CI run: 39145471884. Source checks cover 132 Python tests plus preference and companion JavaScript checks. Native acceptance verified real Tauri rendering, the in-app update check, all 29 MCP tools, and a byte-for-byte SKILL.md download with collision-safe naming.

Packaged smoke tests load the native webview, verify the bundled MCP helper and perform image OCR and scanned-PDF extraction. All platform CI jobs passed. Both final signed Mac apps passed code-signature verification, ticket validation, Gatekeeper and packaged smoke tests (Intel final testing through Rosetta, plus native Intel CI).

  • Apple silicon notarization: 45e0297a-c0ca-498f-b9c8-7bafd6098b73 — Accepted.
  • Intel notarization: 8f01f1a2-1c10-460a-81c8-904c3852ccf7 — Accepted.
  • Developer ID team: 44HHGAZ2C4.

Final artifact hashes are in SHA256SUMS-0.4.0.txt.

Proofpage 0.3.1 — easier automation and personal setup

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 06:45

Proofpage 0.3.1

  • Redesigned Settings and browser companion setup.
  • Saved Light, Dark and Follow system preferences, with cross-tab updates.
  • Easier recurring collection: schedule presets and pause controls.
  • MCP source creation and scheduling, reliable launch paths, and an in-app connection test.
  • Bundled downloadable SKILL.md for supported coding assistants.
  • Stricter explicit participant approval for personal training examples.

The local app includes offline image OCR, PDF extraction, original-file storage, evidence receipts and reviewed training exports. Keep the app running for scheduled collection. Proofpage prepares training datasets; it does not train model weights. Local MCP is not a ChatGPT web connector.

Mac archives are Developer ID signed, notarized and stapled before publication. Windows builds are unsigned. Browser companion 0.3.1 is provided as a separate source ZIP; Chrome Web Store approval is a separate process.

Verification

Runtime commit: be2f85bca40768149c4b08ac2b4367eee6e2aa3f. CI run 39104649182 passed on all platforms, including Python 3.11/3.13, guided installation, container, and native packaged-app checks. The suite includes 128 Python tests and preference/companion JavaScript checks.

Both final Mac apps passed strict code-signature verification, Apple notarization, stapling, Gatekeeper assessment, and local startup/MCP/image-OCR/scanned-PDF smoke tests. Intel was also tested natively in CI; final signed Intel verification ran under Rosetta.

  • Apple silicon notarization: b5302bb2-d136-453f-a480-d64a38264568
  • Intel notarization: c867caa9-667d-4bd2-bc9d-ecf46047ac22
  • Developer ID team: 44HHGAZ2C4

See SHA256SUMS-0.3.1.txt for final artifact checksums. Chrome Web Store availability is not implied by this desktop release.

Proofpage 0.3.0 — Original files, offline OCR, and PDF text

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 05:27

Proofpage 0.3.0 — Keep the file, search the contents

  • Save original PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF bytes, preview images, and export original-file bundles.
  • Offline image OCR, selectable PDF text extraction, and OCR for scanned PDF pages. Desktop downloads include engines and models.
  • Save a public image or PDF directly from the companion, without downloading it first. Requires companion 0.3 and app 0.3; the store's submitted 0.2.2 package is still separate.
  • Watch image/PDF URLs hourly and import media from watched folders. Changed captures preserve original bytes, extracted text, history, and receipts.
  • Bundles include page-level extraction methods and the original SHA-256. Failed extraction retains the file.

See Media and automation for limits. Extraction is local, bounded to 20 pages/500,000 characters/90 seconds, and may contain OCR errors. Public file collection does not use browser login cookies. Keep the app running for schedules.

Verified downloads

Runtime commit: 097f46a773fa6c9ec100cbc03a1834d42743124e. All ten CI jobs passed, including 122 tests on Python 3.11/3.13 and packaged OCR/PDF smoke tests on all four desktop targets.

Both Mac downloads are Developer ID signed, notarized, stapled, and Gatekeeper-verified. Final signed builds also passed native startup, OCR, and PDF extraction locally (Intel through Rosetta). Apple silicon requires macOS 14+; Intel requires macOS 13+.

Apple notarization IDs:

  • Apple silicon: 7e798f1f-7c5a-47cc-a057-18f59874d229
  • Intel: 46225192-3414-4284-89c7-20a04041e664

Windows remains unsigned. The browser companion ZIP is a developer/manual-install package, separate from the Chrome Web Store version awaiting review. A fresh real Chrome popup test of its 0.3 controls was blocked by browser automation policy; script/API and app UI tests passed.

Download the ZIP for your Mac chip, extract it, drag Proofpage.app to Applications, and open it. No Python setup is needed. Back up your workspace before upgrading. SHA256SUMS.txt covers every attached package.

Proofpage 0.2.2 — Save browser pages directly

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 03:38

Save reviewed browser pages directly

The browser companion can now pair with the local app and save reviewed text straight into Browser pages. Repeat saves deduplicate; changed text becomes a revision. Download JSON remains available when the app is offline.

In the app, open Settings → Connect browser. Enter the displayed port and five-minute, single-use code in the companion. Access is import-only and bound to that extension. Disconnect or restart the app to revoke it.

Login and CAPTCHA interruptions now create an attention entry even on the first collection attempt. Opt-in notifications link to Timeline. Agent collection results include instructions for requesting approval for a specific browser challenge; training users complete it themselves. This release does not include an automatic CAPTCHA solver or a password collector. Sign in on the website itself; browser sessions are not copied into the direct collector.

Downloads

Choose the Mac Apple Silicon, Mac Intel, Windows, or Linux desktop download. Python is included. Both Mac builds are Developer ID signed, notarized and stapled. Windows is unsigned.

The companion ZIP is a developer/test package, not an approved Chrome Web Store listing. Store installation without Developer mode is pending publisher submission and Google review. The desktop app remains usable without the companion through Import files.

Updated guide: https://proofpage.app/docs/#browser-capture
Privacy: https://proofpage.app/companion-privacy.html

Verification

All ten CI platform jobs passed for source commit 8bb6dc4. 112 Python tests passed in CI; a subsequent first-attempt CAPTCHA regression brings the local passing suite to 113. Companion fixtures cover filtering, review consent, pairing, saving and fallback downloads. HTTP tests cover origin restrictions, scoped tokens, pairing replay, attempt limits, duplicate imports and revocation. Actual Chrome Web Store installation remains pending.

Proofpage 0.2.1 — A simpler evidence workspace

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 03:26

Proofpage 0.2.1 makes the evidence workspace easier to use and adds searchable documentation and an optional browser text companion.

What changed

  • Refreshed app typography, navigation, surfaces, cards, onboarding, mobile layout, and interaction feedback.
  • Add and collect a public page in one flow; source names are optional.
  • Clearer Check quotes navigation and an always-available docs link.
  • Optional Chrome/Edge browser companion: preview visible text, remove private content, confirm permission, and download a JSON file for import. Sign in and complete CAPTCHAs on the website yourself. It does not collect passwords/cookies or automatically bypass challenges.
  • Browser imports retain user-supplied provenance and revision history. They are not raw server captures and do not receive web receipts or automatic URL-based quote-check coverage.
  • New docs at https://proofpage.app/docs/ with quick start, quote checking, rights, receipts, MCP, training, CLI, and browser capture guides.
  • Website typing/rain effect, pause/reduced-motion handling, refreshed real screenshots, and keyboard-dismissable full-size previews.

Downloads

Desktop archives include Python: extract and open the app. Mac Apple silicon and Intel builds are Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized, and stapled. Windows remains unsigned and can show a publisher warning or be blocked by system policy. Linux requires a compatible x86_64 graphical desktop (built on Ubuntu 22.04).

The browser companion is an optional unpacked extension, not a Chrome Web Store listing. See the docs for installation. Its review, sanitization, export, and import flows have deterministic regression tests; compatibility with every browser/site is not guaranteed.

Validation

110 Python tests passed, companion JavaScript regression tests passed, and all 10 jobs in CI run 39093471821 passed. Browser checks covered add-and-collect, exact/missing quote results, receipt-chain integrity, mobile navigation, docs search, and screenshot enlargement. Signed Mac packages additionally passed native GUI/HTTP/quote-check/offline-verifier and bundled MCP smoke checks.

Back up your workspace before updating. Backups contain your private receipt-signing key. Existing Rights Radar, Timeline, Proof Receipts, training exports, and 27 MCP tools remain included.

Proofpage 0.2.0 — Capture, inspect, and check the evidence

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 03:01
3f7d6a0

Proofpage is now a local evidence workspace: capture the web, inspect publisher signals, compare revisions, and check the quotes in AI answers.

New in 0.2.0

  • Redesigned workspace with light/dark themes, mobile navigation, search, and an evidence drawer.
  • Rights Radar records observed publisher preferences and licensing signals, with review gates for training exports.
  • Time Machine compares immutable page revisions and tracks content changes, rights changes, and broken links.
  • Proof Receipts signs and chains capture records; exports offline-verifiable proof bundles and WACZ archives. Timestamp anchoring is opt-in.
  • Claim Check checks quoted wording against captured evidence, including older revisions, with consent before fetching missing sources and exportable reports.
  • 27 MCP tools, a copyable assistant setup prompt, and CLI access.

Download and open

Choose the ZIP for your computer, extract it, and open Proofpage. No Python or terminal is needed for the desktop downloads.

  • Mac Apple silicon: darwin-arm64.zip.
  • Mac Intel: darwin-x86_64.zip.
  • Windows 10/11 64-bit: windows-x86_64.zip; extract the whole folder and open Proofpage.exe.
  • Linux x86_64: linux-x86_64.tar.gz; Ubuntu 22.04-compatible graphical desktop.

Both Mac apps are Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized, and stapled. Windows is unsigned and may show a publisher warning or be blocked by system policy.

Back up your existing workspace before updating. Backups include the private receipt-signing key; keep them private. The local app remains free and MIT licensed.

Validation and limits

108 tests and all 10 cross-platform CI jobs passed on the release application sources (df6bf4b, run 39091698926). The notarized Mac packages were additionally launched locally, including the bundled MCP helper. Release source is merged in main; subsequent homepage-only changes do not alter application code.

A real example.com WACZ exported by Proofpage replayed successfully in the official self-hosted ReplayWeb.page 2.5.3 viewer. This verifies that static capture, not universal replay of every dynamic site. Receipts describe what the workspace observed; quote matching does not establish whether a claim is true. No login or CAPTCHA bypass.

Proofpage v0.1.3 — Connect your AI assistant

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 18 Oct 00:11

Connect an AI assistant with a copied prompt

Open Agent access → Copy setup prompt and paste it into an MCP-capable assistant. The prompt contains the correct executable and workspace paths, asks the assistant to preserve existing settings, and verifies access by listing sources. Copy MCP configuration gives the JSON directly. A selectable-text fallback works if clipboard access is unavailable.

Desktop downloads now include a console MCP helper sharing the bundled runtime. No separate Python installation is needed. A client still needs local MCP support and permission to configure integrations; the prompt cannot add integrations to unsupported web chats. No secrets or session tokens are included in the prompt.

Signing setup

Manual Mac signing/notarization and Windows Azure Artifact Signing workflows are now available, with credential setup documented in docs/SIGNING.md. They verify final signatures and fail when required configuration is missing. The Mac workflow requires Apple acceptance, a stapled ticket, and Gatekeeper validation.

Mac downloads are now Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized, and stapled. Both Apple silicon and Intel apps passed Gatekeeper assessment and post-signing GUI/API/MCP tests. The two Mac ZIP files and SHA256SUMS were updated on October 17, 2026; source code is unchanged. macOS may still show its normal first-download confirmation. Windows remains unsigned pending Azure Artifact Signing account configuration. Windows reputation warnings can still occur even after code signing.

Downloads and validation

Choose the capitalized Proofpage archive matching your OS/processor, extract it, and open the app. The lowercase local.zip, wheel, and source archive are for optional Python/CLI use.

64 tests passed. All four desktop targets (Windows x86_64, Linux x86_64, Mac Intel, Mac Apple silicon) passed packaged GUI startup, real local API, storage, shutdown, and actual MCP helper initialization/tool calls using the generated configuration. SHA256SUMS covers the downloadable files.

Proofpage v0.1.2 — Download and open

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@Mehxeo Mehxeo released this 17 Oct 23:57

Download, extract, open — no Python or terminal required

Proofpage now includes its own Python runtime and a small desktop launcher. Open the app and your full evidence/training workspace opens in your browser. No account or subscription required.

Choose one of the Proofpage-0.1.2 downloads:

  • darwin-arm64.zip: Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Extract, move Proofpage.app to Applications, then open it.
  • darwin-x86_64.zip: Intel Mac. Extract, move Proofpage.app to Applications, then open it.
  • windows-x86_64.zip: 64-bit Windows 10/11 Intel/AMD. Extract the entire folder and open Proofpage.exe. Keep its support files together.
  • linux-x86_64.tar.gz: 64-bit Linux graphical desktop, built on Ubuntu 22.04. Extract and open the Proofpage executable. Other distributions may require compatible system libraries.

The desktop window has Open workspace and Show data folder buttons. It chooses a free local port automatically and blocks a second desktop instance using the same workspace. Closing it stops the server after active captures finish. Evidence is stored separately in your user folder under Proofpage/data, so replacing application files preserves your work.

Unsigned preview: publisher signing and Apple notarization are not configured. Windows/macOS may warn or block launch. Do not disable operating-system security protections. Automated packaged-GUI checks are not a substitute for signed distribution or manual end-user testing on every supported OS.

For developers

The lowercase proofpage-0.1.2-local.zip, wheel, and source archive remain available for the optional Python/CLI workflow. They require Python 3.11+. There is no managed paid service in this release.

Verification includes 62 tests, Python 3.11/3.13, the container smoke test, guided installation on Windows/macOS/Linux, and packaged GUI startup, real HTTP API, SQLite storage, and shutdown on all four desktop build targets. SHA256SUMS covers the release assets.
