WinSuperResolution v2.5.0

WinSuperResolution v2.5 adds visible environment and compatibility evidence for Windows virtual-resolution workflows.

Highlights

  • Added a compact Environment and compatibility card above the registered display list.
  • Added advisory red, yellow, and green compatibility states without changing existing operation availability.
  • Shows Windows version, CPU, graphics adapters, graphics-driver versions and dates, and selected display-path capability.
  • Keeps detailed inventory and virtual-desktop path evidence in an expandable view.
  • Adds the same compatibility evidence to exported diagnostic summaries.
  • Documents that the Windows version baseline alone cannot guarantee graphics-driver or display-path support.
  • Localizes operation results, plan previews, confirmation windows, unexpected-error prompts, and retained operation summaries consistently across English, Simplified Chinese, and Russian.
  • Adds an in-app About window with the running version, author details, and separate official website, introduction, and GitHub links.
  • Shows the running assembly version in the main window title to make user feedback and diagnostic reports easier to identify.
  • Refines the About window and language selector layout for readable high-DPI presentation.

Compatibility Policy

The red, yellow, and green status is a diagnostic warning, not a feature gate. The active Windows DisplayConfig path remains the primary capability signal. Old hardware, old drivers, or nonstandard Windows 11 installations can still be inspected and attempted, but virtual desktop mode availability and persistence are not guaranteed.

Experimental per-monitor scaling remains protected by its existing DpiValue safety validation.

Upgrade

Replace the previous WinSuperResolution.exe with the v2.5.0 executable. Keep the existing application directory to retain local settings, backups, journals, diagnostic history, and display-state snapshots.
