Builder fixes on top of v0.4.0 (quick updates); see v0.4.0's notes for how quick updates work.

Fixes

  • Windows: no more FileNotFoundError ... build\host-tools\sprite-scales.json at the menu archive step.
  • macOS with Python from python.org: no more CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED when downloading the packaging tools. It now falls back to macOS's own curl (downloads are still checksum-checked).

Stopped partway? Extract v0.4.1 over the same folder and run it again.

Downloads

  • Builder: MKW-3DS-Builder-v0.4.1-macOS.zip or MKW-3DS-Builder-v0.4.1-Windows.zip
  • Update CIA: MKW-3DS-Update.cia (attached automatically a few minutes after release). It needs game files from the v0.4.1 builder: copy build/release/sd-card/3ds to your SD card.

macOS tip: if the builder can't install its Python packages, use Python 3.13 (python.org), delete the .venv folder and run it again. Python 3.15 is too new for one of the packages.

Still the USA version only (RMCE01). Please don't share built full CIAs; the update CIA is fine to share. Full credit to dudewhat for the original port.
