MiniDoom Version 2.0.4
MiniDoom 2.0.4
Fixes monsters, projectiles and other spatial sound effects becoming much too
quiet when the engine updates their position.
Fixed
- Apply the same volume conversion when starting and updating a sound. At slider
level 8, the old update path reduced the measured PCM level by about 18.6 dB. - Scale map 8's minimum sound level relative to the effects volume. Distance no
longer increases the selected level or bypasses mute. - Keep original sound samples, music playback and saved volume preferences.
Validation and documentation
- Added a native regression fixture that compares actual stereo PCM samples,
all 16 volume settings, five stereo positions, spatial updates, active-channel
mute and distance attenuation in maps 1 and 8. - Windows: 756 cases passed, including a silent WinMM device submission, plus all
67 available DOOM effects. All 107 DOOM II effects were also checked. - Linux: 755 cases and all 107 DOOM II effects passed.
- Built both platforms with MiniLang Compiler 1.2.6. Classic and OpenGL startup
checks passed on Windows and Linux; both Linux renderers completed 200 frames
with SDL effects and FluidSynth initialized. - Includes the MiniDoc source/API documentation added since 2.0.3.
