Keyboard and Screen Readers

WebSpeak3 can be used without a mouse, and the channel tree, menus and dialogs are labelled for screen readers.

These don't fire while you're typing in a text field, so Ctrl+D in the chat input won't disconnect you. On macOS they use Control, not Cmd.
The server and channel tree is a real tree for screen readers. Focus any entry with Tab, then:

The search field above the tree filters it as you type. Escape clears the search.
- The menu bar entries (Connections, Bookmarks, Self, …) are buttons:
Tabto them and pressEnterorSpace. - In an open menu or right-click menu,
↑/↓/Home/Endmove between entries andEnteractivates one. -
Escapecloses the menu and puts focus back where it was.
- Focus moves into a dialog when it opens, and
Tabstays inside it until it's closed. -
Escapecloses the dialog and returns focus to where you were. - In small prompts (poke, nickname, kick/ban reason, passwords)
Enterconfirms.

Entersends the message,Shift+Enterstarts a new line. - Favorites, contacts and chat tabs are reachable with
Tab. - On a private chat tab,
Deletecloses it.
- Push-to-talk: voice activation is currently the only transmission mode. See Audio Settings.
- Custom key bindings / hotkeys for mute, deafen or whisper.
