Muesli 0.8

Muesli 0.8 turns your local voice history into a private workspace for understanding, cleaning up, and continuing your work.

What's new

  • Private, on-device Insights: Explore activity trends, word patterns, meeting totals, and shareable contribution cards without sending your history anywhere.
  • Live meeting captions: Follow meetings as they happen with optional local streaming transcription, then rely on the selected meeting model for the final transcript.
  • Meetings that continue with you: Pause and resume recordings, continue an existing meeting, create linked follow-ups, revisit upcoming meetings, and export notes and audio more flexibly.
  • Smarter dictation cleanup: Use optional ChatGPT-hosted cleanup or downloadable local cleanup models, with a clearer model catalog and direct links from Settings.
  • Dictionary suggestions: Muesli can notice repeated corrections and suggest additions to your personal dictionary. Suggestions remain opt-in and require Accessibility permission.
  • Private iCloud sync: Sync text records with the iPhone companion app, filter Dictations and Meetings by this Mac or iPhone, and recover cleanly if initial sync setup takes too long.
  • A guided tour of 0.8: After updating, choose whether to walk through the new features in their actual locations. Skip at any point or replay it later from What's New in Muesli.
  • More local model options: Try experimental Gemma 4 E2B dictation and cleanup, Indic ASR, and Nemotron 3.5 multilingual streaming. Large model weights remain optional downloads.

Reliability and privacy

  • The first dictation after an update now waits for the selected transcription backend to be ready instead of beginning an unusable recording.
  • Live captions and cloud cleanup remain off until you choose them.
  • Error telemetry remains available, while automatic GitHub issue prompts are off by default.
