Multron Win Cleaner Database Update
This release has the same cleaning entries as v1.14. It is the first signed database release.

update.jsonwith the version and the SHA-256 ofdatabase.txt, signed with the database release key (update.json.sig). - Multron Win Cleaner 1.26.5 and later only use a database whose signature and SHA-256 match, so a changed
database.txtis never cleaned with. - Older versions of the app keep downloading
database.txtas before.
Check the file yourself with node scripts/verify-update.js update.json update.json.sig database.txt from this repository.
Database v1.14.1: 725 sections, 5235 cleaning entries (2886 enabled by default).
Compared with v1.14: 0 entries added, 0 removed or changed.

Database v1.14
Multron Win Cleaner Database Update
The database is now organized by component and category, and it has 168 new cleaning entries: 27 new apps and tools, and new areas for 32 apps that were already listed. No existing entry was changed or removed, so your saved selections still apply.
Windows is split into components
The large Windows group is now split into separate groups, so each part of Windows can be checked on its own:
- Windows Temporary Files, Windows Recycle Bin
- Windows Update, Windows Delivery Optimization, Windows Upgrade Leftovers (Windows.old, $Windows.~BT and other setup folders), Windows Component Store & Servicing (CBS, DISM and WinSxS)
- Windows Installer & Package Caches, Windows Error Reporting & Crash Dumps, Windows Logs
- Windows Thumbnail & Icon Cache, Windows Font Cache, DirectX Shader Cache, Windows System Caches, Windows Search, Windows Widgets
- Microsoft Defender (the two Defender groups are now one), Windows User Folders (Downloads, Screenshots and Captures) and Windows System Files (Advanced) for the page file, hibernation file, restore points and other items that are off by default.
Groups are sorted by category
All groups now appear in a fixed order: Windows, Microsoft Store apps, web browsers, communication, office, developer tools, AI apps, graphics and video, media, game launchers, games, emulators, security, utilities, cloud storage, remote access and VPN, downloads and torrents, virtualization, drivers and hardware, PC manufacturer apps, and legacy software. Inside each category the groups are in alphabetical order. Group names such as GoogleChrome now read as Google Chrome.
More space from update caches
Many apps keep a full copy of their last installer after updating. These copies are now cleaned:
- Pending app updates for Bitwarden, LM Studio, Google Antigravity, OpenCode, Signal and Obsidian. On the test PC these four folders alone held 1.3 GB.
- Old update packages for Slack, Microsoft Teams Classic, Postman, Figma, WhatsApp, Discord PTB, Discord Canary, Discord Development, Element, GitKraken, Insomnia and Logseq.
- Browser updaters: Google Update and the new Google Updater (download cache and log), Brave Update downloads, the Edge updater temporary folder, and Firefox update downloads (off by default).
- Microsoft Office update downloads (off by default).
New apps and tools
- AI coding tools: Claude Code (shell snapshots, logs and caches; sessions and file checkpoints are off by default), OpenAI Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Continue, Trae IDE, Positron IDE and ComfyUI Desktop.
- Developer tools: Bazel, Conan, ccache, sccache, GHCup, Yarn Berry cache, pyenv-win downloads, gopls and goimports caches, Android SDK system images (off by default) and Rancher Desktop.
- Apps and games: BiglyBT, darktable, dupeGuru, ReplayWeb.page, Exodus (caches only, never wallet data), Lightshot, Qt app shader cache, Synology Drive Client, Sandboxie-Plus (off by default), Spybot Search & Destroy, HP OMEN Gaming Hub, Mozilla Maintenance Service, FACEIT, Blitz, DDNet and Teeworlds, and Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced crash logs.
- New locations for existing apps: the current Proton VPN app, TeamSpeak 6, Roblox installer files, Rockstar Games Launcher crash logs and service logs, Apple device crash logs and the Whisper speech model cache (off by default).
How the paths were checked
- 39 of the new paths were checked on a real Windows 11 installation where the app is installed.
- The others come from the app's own documentation or its standard Electron and Squirrel folder layout. If one of them is wrong for an app version, it is simply not shown, because the app only lists paths that exist.
- Every path was checked so that it does not repeat an existing entry.
- Settings, passwords, cookies, local storage, chat history, saved games, models and wallet data are never cleaned by default.
- Paths that do not exist on a PC are not shown in the list.
Database v1.14: 725 sections, 5235 cleaning entries (2886 enabled by default).
Compared with v1.13.3: 168 entries added, 0 removed or changed.
SHA-256 of database.txt: a8fbee284b55307fb5b0e3cf0fa8417561868ae56847c19fcecdc4d3d840fc10
Database v1.13.3
Multron Win Cleaner Database Update
49 new applications and 310 new cleaning entries. No existing entry was changed or removed.
Office
- Microsoft Office apps: Word temporary files, Office Backstage cache, Office 2013 file cache, and Word and PowerPoint AutoRecover folders (off by default, because they can hold unsaved documents).
- Microsoft 365 & Office 2024: leftover Excel Power Query caches from queries that did not finish, the Power Query data cache (off by default), the Outlook add-in cache and the Office add-in web view cache.
- New Outlook: feedback folder, and the offline mailbox cache (off by default).
- New Teams: temporary folder.
- OneNote 2013 & 2016: cache and backup folders (off by default, because the cache can hold notes that are not synced yet).
- SoftMaker Office & FreeOffice: backup folder (off by default).
- Microsoft Office from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft Translator and Drawboard PDF.
Messaging
- Third-party WhatsApp clients: Altus and WhatsDesk.
- Apps that combine WhatsApp and other messengers: Station, Hamsket, Singlebox (including Singlebox 2), Biscuit, All-in-One Messenger and Franz.
- Telegram clients: Kotatogram, 64Gram and AyuGram.
- Discord clients: ArmCord, WebCord and GoofCord.
- Others: Signal Beta, Android Messages, WeChat logs and Mailbird logs.
- Only caches, logs and crash reports are cleaned by default. IndexedDB and Local Storage are off by default, because cleaning them signs you out (for WhatsApp you would have to scan the QR code again).
Productivity and tools
draw.io, Airtable, Notesnook, RemNote, Heptabase, DeepL (logs), Google Earth Pro (imagery cache), XnView MP (thumbnail database, off by default), Upscayl, NZXT CAM and Ledger Wallet / Ledger Live (only caches and logs, never wallet data).

Chocolatey (logs and failed packages), Scoop (download cache), Google Cloud SDK (logs), MySQL Workbench (logs), XAMPP, Laragon and MSYS2 (pacman package cache).
Microsoft Store apps
GIMP, Xtreme Download Manager and Classic 7 Photo Viewer.
How the paths were checked
- Every path was checked against an official source:
- the app's own documentation or support pages;
- its source code (the folder name in
package.jsonor in the app's version file); - the uninstall lists of Homebrew;
- or real installations.
- Entries that could not be confirmed were left out.
- Chromium and Electron cache folders (Cache, Code Cache, GPUCache, DawnGraphiteCache, DawnWebGPUCache, Service Worker cache, Crashpad reports and logs) were checked against the Electron and electron-log documentation and against Electron apps installed on Windows. The older DawnCache folder is kept for older app versions.
- Settings, passwords, cookies, local storage, mailboxes, notes, saved games and wallet data are never cleaned by default.
- Paths that do not exist on a PC are not shown in the list.
Database v1.13.2
855 new entries in 25 new categories. 334 are enabled by default; 521 are disabled because they may hold data you want to keep.

Database v1.13.1
196 new entries in 31 new categories, plus additions to 7 existing ones. 147 are enabled by default; 49 are disabled because they may hold data you want to keep. Works on Windows 11 26H2, 25H2, 24H2 and older versions of Windows 11 and Windows 10.
Safety fixes
The whole database was checked for entries that could remove data you want to keep. These were turned off by default:
- Temporary Internet Files (
INetCache): cleaning the whole folder also removedContent.Outlook, where classic Outlook keeps the attachments you open. The Internet Explorer cache inside it (INetCache\IE) is still cleaned. - qBittorrent
BT_backup: holds your torrent list and resume data. Removing it emptied the torrent list. - Spotify
Storage(desktop and Microsoft Store versions): this is where downloaded songs for offline listening are kept. The rest of the Spotify cache is still cleaned. - Xtreme Download Manager data folder
- Browser WebSQL storage (
databases) in 24 browser categories, so it now matches IndexedDB and Local Storage, which were already off
Also fixed:
- 9 entries that appeared twice were removed, so their size is no longer counted twice during a scan
- Entry names with spaces and names shared by different paths were renamed
Windows 11 26H2, 25H2 and 24H2
- Windows AI & Copilot (new): web caches and temp folders of the Windows AI components behind Recall, Click to Do and the AI actions in File Explorer, and of the Copilot key provider. Recall snapshots stay disabled, as before.
- Windows Administrator Protection (new): Windows 11 can create a separate
ADMIN_profile when Administrator protection is turned on. Its temp files, web cache, thumbnail cache, error reports and crash dumps are now cleaned. Recent files and the DirectX shader cache stay disabled. - Windows Shell Apps: temp files and web cache of the recommendations app used by the redesigned Start menu
- Windows Security & Sign-in Apps: temp files and web cache of the work or school account sign-in broker. Its saved sign-in data stays disabled, because removing it can sign you out of work or school accounts.
- Xbox Services: temp files and web cache of Microsoft Edge for Game Bar
Microsoft Store apps
- Microsoft Store Default Apps (new): temp files and web caches of Microsoft Edge (Store package), WinGet sources, Xbox speech-to-text overlay, Microsoft Journal, Whiteboard, PC Manager, Windows Scan, Network Speed Test, Power BI, Windows Subsystem for Linux, Windows Subsystem for Android and the HEIF, HEVC, RAW and web media extensions.
