Rodin Essential v1.18.5 — Aurora
Rodin Essential v1.18.5 — Aurora
A deeper level of control, with a more responsive and consistent interface.
Per-App Controls
- Added individual touch response, refresh rate, CPU and GPU settings for each app.
- Set independent CPU cores, cluster frequency ranges and governors per app.
- Choose supported 60/90/120 Hz refresh modes or OEM Adaptive.
- Selected overrides take priority while the app is in the foreground. Other controls continue following your global settings.
- Leaving the app or disabling Per-App Controls restores your previous global/ROM settings.
- Profiles remain saved across reboots and work without keeping Rodin Essential open.
- Per-App Controls is off by default; configure profiles before enabling them.
- Search installed apps using their actual names and icons. System apps are hidden by default and can be shown when needed.
- Reset an individual profile or clear all profiles from the section.
Memory DVFS & UFS
- Added a dedicated hub for LPDDR5X Memory DVFS and UFS 4.0 controls.
- Set dynamic frequency ranges or equal minimum/maximum requests with Exact Lock.
- View current driver readings, active limits and your selected targets separately.
- Select frequencies supported by the device's drivers, with haptic slider feedback.
- Restore the original settings using OEM Reset.
- These are session controls: closing the app keeps them active; rebooting or restarting the daemon restores the original settings.
Bypass Charging Tile
- Added a Bypass Charging tile to Quick Settings / Control Center.
- Toggle bypass without opening Rodin Essential.
- Long-press the tile to open Charging Control directly.
- Added a matching bypass icon and on/off state feedback.
Interface & Interaction
- Refined Home and Control Hubs with clearer live information and a more consistent layout.
- Added rotating, colour-accented headlines to the Control Hubs banner.
- Added connected page transitions and predictive Back previews on supported Android versions.
- Added touch-following lighting, spring press feedback and more consistent haptics.
- Improved scrolling, page-opening and Back transitions, including gesture cancellation.
- Improved floating-dock dragging and tab switching, with clearer selection feedback.
- Refined glass headers and improved card outlines and dividers in light mode.
- Unified slider value bubbles across Dynamic Range and Exact Lock controls.
- Improved text wrapping and spacing across CPU, display, resolution, ZRAM, Support and app-control screens.
- Improved clearance between floating feedback cards, the dock, navigation bar and keyboard.
Fixes & Changes
- Improved CPU core changes when the driver temporarily reports busy.
- Improved app/backend communication so control requests do not block interface interaction.
- Improved rendering when Android recreates the app window or the app returns from the background.
- Removed Double Tap to Wake from Rodin Essential; use your ROM's setting instead.
ROM Maintainers
Bypass charging requires a compatible kernel interface. Refresh rates and subsystem frequency choices depend on the modes exposed by your device's drivers.
Rodin Essential v1.18.4
Rodin Essential v1.18.4
Application and module version: 1.18.4 / 11804. Daemon IPC protocol: 13.6.
Both packages contain identical application and native runtime payloads.
Changelog
- Added kernel-supported bypass charging with Immediate and 20/40/80/90%
thresholds, background persistence and measured status reporting. - Disabled competing charging-profile controls while bypass is enabled.
- Added whole-app hardware-control pause and reset, with redesigned confirmation
dialogs and haptics. - Added OEM Control defaults for touch response and display colour/temperature;
the ROM retains ownership until the user selects an override. - Serialized touch ownership changes with boot/wake restoration to prevent an
older queued request from restoring a profile after OEM Control is selected. - Retained bypass confirmation across page changes without rewriting an
unchanged kernel request; background observation is independent of the app. - Refined Home, Control Hubs, Support, charging cards, text wrapping, dock
clearance and the bypass-threshold slider. - Added System Colors: system-wide Material You palettes with custom seed colours,
wallpaper-based colours, palette styles, fine-tuning and reset controls. - Added the unpacked-ROM integration package with a porter guide, filesystem
metadata, Rodin-only SELinux additions and a target-ROM policy merge tool. - Updated AOSP integration guidance, application MCS labeling, certificate-bound
IPC and the explicit platform-policy helper for native touch timing. - Added one-time signing migration for user-installed module applications while
retaining daemon hardware selections.
Choose the correct ZIP
- Rodin-Essential-KernelSU-Next-Magisk-v1.18.4.zip: install from KernelSU
Next or Magisk while Android is running, then reboot. Includes the app and
authenticated hardware daemon. The Android app itself does not run as root. - Rodin-Essential-ROM-Integration-v1.18.4.zip: integration inputs for extracted
ROM images on Rodin devices. Do not flash this ZIP. FollowFULL-GUIDE.md
to merge Rodin-only additions into your own ROM's policy, remove identified
stale caches, apply image metadata and rebuild the images.
AOSP source-build integration is documented in
ROM_INTEGRATION.md.
The correctly integrated native service needs no root manager at runtime.
Updating an existing installation
The signing identity changed in v1.18.4. For an ordinary user-installed APK,
the module attempts a normal update first. A signature mismatch triggers a
one-time application reinstall: daemon profiles remain saved, but app-local
appearance/preferences reset. Subsequent same-key updates retain application data.
A ROM-native installation can use the module as an update layer only if its
APK has the same signing identity. The module shares native daemon state and
restores the native APK/service when removed. Older or maintainer-signed native
APKs with a different identity require a ROM update; this module does not bypass
Android signature checks or delete a system app.

Rodin Essential v1.18.3
Rodin Essential v1.18.3
Stable release for POCO X7 Pro / Redmi Turbo 4 (rodin). The application,
daemon, KernelSU/Magisk package, AOSP integration, protocol, and release
metadata are synchronized at version 1.18.3 (11803).
Highlights
- Fixes the widespread Offline backend failure without granting the Android
application root, system UID, or privileged permissions. - Uses authenticated daemon-initiated Unix IPC and a privileged-loopback
fallback for KernelSU Next and Magisk SELinux environments. Both transports
verify the installed application's exact Linux UID. - Starts the daemon listener before framework-dependent restoration and bounds
framework calls, preventing a healthy daemon from being hidden by a blocked
startup task. - Restores the complete v1.18.0 Touch Response implementation: native 240/480
timing for the 250/500 profiles and the verified one-millisecond Android
output scheduler for the 1000 profile. - Keeps persisted GPU, CPU, touch, display, UFS, charging, and ZRAM controls
daemon-owned across app force-stop, removal from recents, screen wake, and
reboot. - Keeps GPU profiles independent from CPU governors, CPU frequency ranges, and
core state. - Supports a reversible module update layer over signature-compatible
ROM-native installations without running two daemon supervisors. - Keeps the AOSP source integration synchronized with the same app, daemon,
protocol, persistence model, and feature set as the root module. - Removes
SYS_PTRACE,DAC_OVERRIDE, andDAC_READ_SEARCHfrom the native
AOSP policy. ROM-native 1000 Hz output uses the dedicated Rodin input-device
label directly and passes the Android 17 platform-policy probe.
KernelSU Next / Magisk installation
- Download
Rodin-Essential-KernelSU-Next-Magisk-v1.18.3.zip. - Install it from KernelSU Next Manager or Magisk while Android is running.
- Reboot once, then open Rodin Essential.
Existing official module installations update in place because the package ID,
module ID, and APK signing certificate are unchanged. On a ROM-native build
using the same APK certificate, the installer updates the app without clearing
data, stops the native init daemon before module takeover, and shares the native
state directory. Removing the module restores the ROM APK and native service.
Recovery installation is not supported.
AOSP ROM integration
ROM maintainers should integrate from the tagged source and follow
docs/ROM_INTEGRATION.md. The source helper builds, verifies, stages, and wires
the synchronized app, daemon, init service, and SELinux policy while preserving
the maintainer's own long-term APK signing identity. A ROM-owned certificate can
be updated only by that maintainer; public-module native updates require the
same certificate as the public release APK.
Important
- Intended only for the
rodindevice family. - ROM-native update mode is accepted only when Android verifies that the native
and release APK certificates match. Cross-signature updates are rejected
without uninstalling the app or deleting its data. - Exact CPU/GPU locks and high touch modes can materially increase power draw,
heat, and instability. Hardware emergency shutdown remains authoritative.

Rodin Essential v1.18.0
Rodin Essential v1.18.0
Release for POCO X7 Pro / Redmi Turbo 4 (rodin).
Highlights
- Independent CPU core and frequency controls for the efficiency, performance,
and prime policies, with live OPP validation and exact frequency locks. - Exact CPU locks can sustain the full 2100/3000/3250 MHz policy maxima across
late Xiaomi and MediaTek updates and after a fresh boot. - GPU profiles remain independent from CPU frequencies and governors. Extreme
Beast holds the Mali GPU at 1300 MHz while Gaming Dynamic retains the full
260-1300 MHz range. - KernelSU Next and Magisk startup safely reclaims stale watchdog locks and
restores persisted controls after Android and vendor services settle. - KernelSU Next and Magisk install the socket policy for the root manager's
activesu, ksu, ormagiskSELinux domain, then verify and reapply that
rule to the live policy after boot. This covers manager builds that skip or
race the early module-policy loader and prevents a healthy daemon from
appearing Offline. Module Action reports the live patch result and engine. - Daemon IPC authenticates the installed application's Linux UID with
SO_PEERCRED; other ordinary applications cannot issue hardware commands. - Improved Goodix and FocalTech touch handling, including persistent 250 Hz,
500 Hz, and compatible 1000 Hz output scheduling. - Correct native 250-mode calibration; the physical panel no longer falls back
to roughly 135 Hz while the TouchFeature HAL reports 240 Hz. - Idempotent boot restoration leaves an already-correct ZRAM device running
instead of resetting swap during every late vendor-settling pass. - ROM-aware resolution density and live adaptive refresh-rate telemetry.
- Faster cold launches with a plain application launch surface and a verified
runtime-asset cache that safely invalidates after application updates. - Combined KernelSU Next and Magisk package with the unprivileged application,
ARM64 daemon, and command-line health client.
Installation
- Flash
Rodin-Essential-KernelSU-Next-Magisk-v1.18.0.zipin KernelSU Next or
Magisk while Android is running. - Reboot once.
- Open Rodin Essential and select the desired controls or profile.
Existing module installations can be updated by flashing this ZIP directly.
The module ID, version, and application signing identity remain unchanged.
Important
- Intended only for the
rodindevice family. - Do not install this module on a ROM that already integrates Rodin Essential
as a native system service. Use either the ROM-native backend or this root
module, never both. - Keep one consistent installation method when updating.
- A custom CPU range selects Xiaomi's OEM
thermal-nolimitsconfiguration so
Xiaomi's userspace CPU ceiling cannot replace the requested range. Thermal
services remain running, hardware critical-temperature shutdown remains
authoritative, and the previous Xiaomi configuration is restored after the
final custom CPU range is reset. - Performance controls can materially increase power draw, heat, and
instability. - The bundled APK is signed for the root-module release channel; it is not a
universal update for ROM builds signed with a different application key. - Recovery installation is not supported.
