Rodin Essential v1.18.3
Rodin Essential v1.18.3
Stable release for POCO X7 Pro / Redmi Turbo 4 (rodin). The application,
daemon, KernelSU/Magisk package, AOSP integration, protocol, and release
metadata are synchronized at version 1.18.3 (11803).
Highlights
- Fixes the widespread Offline backend failure without granting the Android
application root, system UID, or privileged permissions. - Uses authenticated daemon-initiated Unix IPC and a privileged-loopback
fallback for KernelSU Next and Magisk SELinux environments. Both transports
verify the installed application's exact Linux UID. - Starts the daemon listener before framework-dependent restoration and bounds
framework calls, preventing a healthy daemon from being hidden by a blocked
startup task. - Restores the complete v1.18.0 Touch Response implementation: native 240/480
timing for the 250/500 profiles and the verified one-millisecond Android
output scheduler for the 1000 profile. - Keeps persisted GPU, CPU, touch, display, UFS, charging, and ZRAM controls
daemon-owned across app force-stop, removal from recents, screen wake, and
reboot. - Keeps GPU profiles independent from CPU governors, CPU frequency ranges, and
core state. - Supports a reversible module update layer over signature-compatible
ROM-native installations without running two daemon supervisors. - Keeps the AOSP source integration synchronized with the same app, daemon,
protocol, persistence model, and feature set as the root module. - Removes
SYS_PTRACE,DAC_OVERRIDE, andDAC_READ_SEARCHfrom the native
AOSP policy. ROM-native 1000 Hz output uses the dedicated Rodin input-device
label directly and passes the Android 17 platform-policy probe.
KernelSU Next / Magisk installation
- Download
Rodin-Essential-KernelSU-Next-Magisk-v1.18.3.zip. - Install it from KernelSU Next Manager or Magisk while Android is running.
- Reboot once, then open Rodin Essential.
Existing official module installations update in place because the package ID,
module ID, and APK signing certificate are unchanged. On a ROM-native build
using the same APK certificate, the installer updates the app without clearing
data, stops the native init daemon before module takeover, and shares the native
state directory. Removing the module restores the ROM APK and native service.
Recovery installation is not supported.
AOSP ROM integration
ROM maintainers should integrate from the tagged source and follow
docs/ROM_INTEGRATION.md. The source helper builds, verifies, stages, and wires
the synchronized app, daemon, init service, and SELinux policy while preserving
the maintainer's own long-term APK signing identity. A ROM-owned certificate can
be updated only by that maintainer; public-module native updates require the
same certificate as the public release APK.
Important
- Intended only for the
rodindevice family. - ROM-native update mode is accepted only when Android verifies that the native
and release APK certificates match. Cross-signature updates are rejected
without uninstalling the app or deleting its data. - Exact CPU/GPU locks and high touch modes can materially increase power draw,
heat, and instability. Hardware emergency shutdown remains authoritative.
