PairCue is now SubDuet

Two languages. One subtitle.

This is the same project, with the same owner, history, and subtitle workflows. This release
updates the app name, documentation, setup screens, desktop archives, and command-line entry point.
It does not change subtitle processing or AI-provider behavior.

Upgrade without re-entering your keys

  • Close the old PairCue app before opening SubDuet.
  • Existing private settings stay in their original PairCue configuration folder.
  • Both subduet and the legacy paircue command work for source installations.
  • Existing paircue.env, PAIRCUE_ settings, and Docker state-volume names remain supported.
  • No private configuration or API key needs to be copied into this repository or uploaded.

See the upgrade guide.

Download

Choose the archive for Apple silicon Mac, Intel Mac, Windows x64, or Linux x64. Unzip it and open
SubDuet. Desktop beta builds are not yet signed. Use only these official release downloads and
verify them against SHA256SUMS.txt. Each archive includes dependency notices and an SBOM.

For a first result without accounts, keys, media, or network access: choose your platform, then
press Try safe demo. The demo uses only short dialogue written for this project.

Verification

  • 164 tests, including new/legacy commands and private-configuration compatibility.
  • Credential and private-context checks on tracked files, Git history, and staged desktop packages.
  • Dependency vulnerability and runtime-license checks.
  • Packaged-app smoke tests on all four desktop targets.

Automated checks reduce risk; they are not a guarantee that beta software has no security issues.
