Summary

The macOS platform test selects test-owned OpenShell executables. It asserts normal child completion before checking output. The afterEach hook removes the temporary home and verifies its absence. This prevents a host-side Homebrew-installed OpenShell gateway from starting while preserving the list and status output contracts.

E2E root cause: repro-2666 silent list-status test / subprocess and cleanup phase / output-order plus temporary-home cleanup failures on macOS
Source run: https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/32312339289 (run 32312339289, attempt 1)
Source main commit: fde9909a022b2ca281813bb0220dd3bb4093f08c (GitHub Verified)
Failed jobs: macOS compatibility (1/4) (96257900908, https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/32312339289/job/96257900908)
Signature: Status subprocesses reached the 30-second timeout after package-managed gateway startup. Assertions then saw only partial startup output, and temporary-home cleanup failed with ENOTEMPTY under the Homebrew bootsnap cache.
Scope: one root cause

Changes

  • Restrict the subprocess PATH and select test-owned OpenShell CLI and gateway executables, so the test cannot start a host package-managed gateway.
  • Preserve child errors, signals, and nullable status. Require normal child completion before product-output assertions.
  • Check classifier and guidance order on stdout while retaining combined stdout and stderr checks for nonempty user output.
  • Delete each temporary home and verify its absence after the child exits.

expectCliCompleted checks normal completion for the seven tests that call runCli.

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to aa20e

The change is localized and the targeted macOS tests pass, but required checks remain failing on three unrelated jobs that also fail on the base commit; without maintainer acceptance or a waiver, the PR is not merge-ready.

Use the repository’s POSIX PATH separator.

This test harness uses POSIX executable paths. Use ":" instead of path.delimiter to keep the environment explicit and deterministic.

- PATH: [binDir, "/usr/bin", "/bin", "/usr/sbin", "/sbin"].join(path.delimiter),
+ PATH: [binDir, "/usr/bin", "/bin", "/usr/sbin", "/sbin"].join(":"),

Based on learnings, “prefer the established POSIX PATH separator : ... Do not replace it with path.delimiter in these unit/integration tests.”

## Summary

Add the canonical dated changelog entry required before planning the
v0.0.112 release.
The entry summarizes the 75 merged PRs in
`v0.0.111..af56158`, links user-facing
themes to published documentation routes, and links every included
source PR.

## Changes

- Add `docs/changelog/2026-08-20.mdx` with the exact `## v0.0.112`
release heading and parser-safe MDX SPDX comment.
- Cover managed local inference, onboarding and sandbox lifecycle
recovery, messaging continuity, review and release automation, E2E
qualification, dependency updates, and cumulative documentation
catch-up.
- Preserve the documentation skip list and supported-agent matrix; the
