Actanara v1.4.0

Actanara v1.4.0 completes the independently gated Linux local-RAG and existing-Runtime update/repair stages introduced after v1.3.0, while preserving the verified macOS launchd behavior.

Highlights

  • Enables audited Linux x86_64 and arm64 lock targets for cloud or CPU-only local-embedding nova-RAG installs.
  • Adds guarded Linux source-only refresh, automatic or forced locked-venv upgrades, and explicitly confirmed repair.
  • Adds durable rollback and interrupted-operation recovery for Linux Runtime updates.
  • Preserves the exact enabled and active state of every managed systemd user unit across updates.
  • Routes actanara update through the POSIX Linux adapter and reports platform-neutral Doctor evidence.

Security and compatibility

  • Standard updates reject stale, missing, modified, or non-Actanara unit definitions before stopping services.
  • Repair reconciles only units carrying the Actanara management marker and never adopts operator-owned units.
  • No Linux update path invokes sudo or silently changes linger; uninstall does not disable linger.
  • macOS retains its existing launchd transactions, guided installer, and managed-Python behavior.
  • Guarded update and repair are release-gated on Debian 13 x86_64 with CPython 3.13. The Linux arm64 dependency lock is audited, but the full runtime upgrade gate in this release was executed on x86_64.

Verification

  • Debian Linux isolated release gate: 1,503 tests, 0 failures/errors, 10 expected skips.
  • macOS full isolated release gate: 1,762 tests, 0 failures/errors, 9 expected skips.
  • Debian real systemd install, status, update, restart, uninstall, failure compensation, interrupted recovery, and cleanup: passed.
  • Release metadata, license, dependency contract, and runtime-lock validation: 59 tests passed.
  • Dashboard live-context tests: 5 passed; Release Page Playwright tests: 26 passed.
  • Two independent release builds produced byte-identical output.
  • Release-clean inventory: 351 files, 0 findings.
  • All nine uploaded assets passed local SHA256 verification before upload.
