Replace non-Git total-file caps and truncated previews with streaming, editable UTF-8 pages, paged tables, incremental metadata or complete source fallbacks. Shared policy now documents 181 boundaries in English and Chinese.
Stream XLSX into a disk-backed worksheet cell/value/formula index; retain long values and sparse cell addresses. Paginate GPX/KML coordinates and diagram batches.
Keep ebook navigation with complete source/member pages for complex chapters; improve cancellation, image preparation, tensor/executable metadata and large-value dialogs.
Support cancellable atomic paged saves, preserve pages on refresh, and stream large HTML browser previews while retaining editable source pages.
Fix Matroska seek-index transaction errors that prevented some mislabeled MP4 files from opening. Three reported files completed conversion locally.
Includes browser-style HTML previews with local project resources and improved rendering diagnostics/recovery.
Support limitations
Git/diff boundaries are unchanged and deferred to a separate iteration.
XLSX uses a sparse cell index, not an Excel layout; no formula recalculation, macros or complete chart/style reproduction. XLS and unsupported workbook structures use macOS Quick Look.
Large/complex projections can use complete source fallbacks. Image previews can be scaled within working-memory budgets; actual-size zoom is not tiled original-resolution decoding. Native framework allocations, SQLite expressions and ZIP directory indexing remain platform/library constraints.
HTML uses WebKit and a private local-resource scheme; backend/secure-origin/browser-extension requirements may need a development server or browser. Ordinary non-UTF-8 text remains unsupported; supported ebook legacy encodings are decoded separately.
Interactive UI, media playback and Intel hardware behavior have not been smoke-tested.
Validation and installation
Local formatting, workspace/all-target Clippy and locked build passed. Release CI passed release Clippy, workspace tests (including all 10 new boundary regressions) and native updater checks on Apple Silicon, plus package verification on Apple Silicon and Intel.
macOS Apple Silicon and Intel only. Choose the matching DMG and drag Glim.app into Applications. Packages are ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or notarized; macOS may require approval in Privacy & Security. Existing updater-enabled installations can update through Glim.
