Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.7.5 | Luigi's Mansion 3 Update
Luigi's Mansion 3 joins Nextendo
Luigi's Mansion 3 is now a supported title. Grab a friend and take the ScareScraper online on Nextendo.
- Play Luigi's Mansion 3 online. The game is recognised by the emulator and offered online like every other supported title. You need game version 1.4.0 — that is the version Nextendo servers speak, and the emulator will tell you if your copy is on a different one.
- Server lookup fix. Some games ask the system to resolve a server name from a buffer that keeps leftover bytes after the name itself. Those leftovers used to stay attached to the lookup, which then quietly failed and left the game unable to connect. The name is now read correctly.
Notes
- Luigi's Mansion 3 online play is brand new here. If you hit an error code, the code itself plus what you were doing when it appeared is what makes it fixable — please report it that way.
- Thanks to @LITTLECHOPT8 for the Luigi's Mansion 3 server work and for the name-resolution fix in this release.
The emulator auto-updates from within the app. Windows: unzip and run Ryujinx.exe. Linux: extract the tarball and run Ryujinx. macOS: use the universal build (right-click → Open the first time — it is not notarized).
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.7.4 | Splatoon 2 Rotation Fix
Splatoon 2 rotation fix
Some players were still landing on an outdated Splatoon 2 online schedule — and the "communication errors" that come from being on a different rotation than everyone else. This build fixes the root cause.
- One source of truth for the schedule. The online schedule (BCAT) is now read only from the auto-synced location that 1.7.3 already refreshes on every launch. A stale copy sitting next to the executable — left over from an older build, or copied in from somewhere else — can no longer override the current rotation.
- Nothing to do on your side. The schedule keeps force-syncing from the server at launch; this release just makes sure the fresh copy is the one actually used in game.
Notes
- If you once copied a
bcat-seedfolder next toRyujinx.exe, you can delete it — it is no longer read.
The emulator auto-updates from within the app. Windows: unzip and run Ryujinx.exe. Linux: extract the tarball and run Ryujinx. macOS: use the universal build (right-click → Open the first time — it is not notarized).
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.7.3 | Cloud Saves Update
Cloud Saves
Your progress now lives on your Nextendo account — not just on this PC.
- Cloud saves for Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Your save is backed up to your account and restored on any PC you sign in from.
- Automatic, in the background. Your save is pushed when you close a game, on a timer while you play, and best-effort even if the emulator crashes.
- Empty-folder restore. Launch a game with no local save and Nextendo offers to download your cloud save first (Switch-style prompt) — or start fresh, with a clear warning that a new save will overwrite the cloud copy on the next sync.
- Download anytime. Grab your raw save file from your personal space on nextendo.network.
- Discord Server Boosters get 10 MB of cloud storage (5 MB otherwise).
Also in this build
- Splatoon 2: the online schedule (BCAT) is now force-synced on every launch, comparing your local schedule to the server's and silently refreshing when they differ — this ends the "communication errors" that happened when players were on different rotations.
- Clearer online error messages: a refused login no longer shows up as a bare "communication error".
Notes
- Cloud saves are available to accounts linked to Discord with a verified e-mail.
- Requires 1.7.3 or later — older builds cannot push or restore cloud saves.
The emulator auto-updates from within the app. Windows: unzip and run Ryujinx.exe. Linux: extract the tarball and run Ryujinx. macOS: use the universal build.
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.7.2 | Better Mod Store Update
Nextendo 1.7.2
Mod Store, rebuilt
- Browse GameBanana right inside the emulator — search, images, categories, and client-side cosmetic mods for every game.
- Favourite mods synced to your Nextendo account, an "Installed mods" tab, update detection, enable/disable and conflict warnings.
- Supports
.zip,.7zand.rarmods. - In-app detail panel with screenshots and description.
Fixes
- Splatoon 2: fixed the online schedule (calendar) download failing with "download failed" — notably on macOS, where it tried to write inside the read-only
.appbundle. The schedule now installs into a writable folder on every platform. - Security hardening in the Mod Store: archive path-traversal (Zip Slip) guard on extraction, and download-host validation (GameBanana only).
Downloads
- Windows x64 —
Nextendo-1.7.2-win-x64.zip - Linux x64 —
Nextendo-1.7.2-linux-x64.tar.gz - macOS (universal) — attached automatically once the CI build finishes.
A one-time "What's new" popup is shown on first launch of this version.
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.7.1 | Friends & Presence Update
Online security
- Major security hardening of online authentication (account ↔ NEX session binding). Updating is strongly recommended for everyone who plays online.
In-game notifications
- Switch-style toasts now appear in-game when a friend starts playing a game, or sends you a friend request — up to 3, stacked.
- Only for events that happen after you launch a game (no flood of everything already pending at launch).
- Turn them off in Settings → Nextendo Network.
Friends & presence
- New online / total friends counter.
- Friends' avatars now appear on each game row — the friends currently playing that game — for every game, tolerant to regional title differences.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Compatibility badge (v3.0.3) and a live online-player count, like Splatoon 2.
Play history
- Your play history is now sent to your account every time a game closes (Stop, Alt+F4, or a crash), not only when you open the Nextendo Network tab.
Fixes
- Fixed duplicate toast notifications for the same friend.
- Removed the no-op Splatoon 3 compatibility badge.
Downloads: Windows (win_x64.zip), Linux (linux_x64.tar.gz), macOS universal (macos_universal.tar.gz, attached automatically shortly after publish).
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.7.0 | How Not to Leak Your IP on the Internet Update
Managing friends is quicker, your connection info stays private, and Nextendo gets its own splash.
New
- "Accept all" friend requests. A new button — in both the Friends window and the Nextendo Network settings — accepts every pending friend request at once, instead of one by one.
- Your external address is now hidden by default. In the Friends window's connection check, your external address is masked behind a Discord-style spoiler; click it to reveal it. It re-hides on every new connection test, so it's never on screen by accident.
- "What's new", once. The first time you launch a new version, a short, condensed summary of the changes pops up — shown once, then never again for that version.
- A big Nextendo logo now sits under the Ryujinx one in the console.
Under the hood
- All the new interface text is fully translated across the 20 supported languages.
Notes
- Windows: extract the zip, open the
publishfolder and runRyujinx.exe. - Linux: extract the tar.gz and run the
Ryujinxbinary insidepublish/. - macOS (universal — Apple Silicon + Intel): extract the tar.gz and move
Ryujinx.appto Applications. It is ad-hoc signed (not notarized), so on first launch right-click the app and choose Open — or runxattr -cr Ryujinx.apponce. - Your games, keys and settings are untouched — this only updates the emulator.
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.6.9
Online reliability — major fix for error 2618-0006
This release fixes a common cause of the 2618-0006 communication error that dropped online sessions (Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Smash…).
The problem: in these games, every console in a match talks directly (P2P) through one shared network socket. When a single player had a brief network hiccup — a router along the path returning an ICMP "time exceeded" error — Windows reset that shared socket, and the whole match went down at once, for everyone, not just the affected player.
The fix: the emulator now absorbs that transient error and keeps reading, instead of dropping the session. Proven in real conditions: 26 of these errors occurred during real online matches without causing a single 2618-0006 — whereas before, the correlation was 6 for 6 (100%).
Recommended for everyone: it markedly reduces "a communication error has occurred" disconnects.
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.6.8
Your Nextendo identity now follows you everywhere — in the emulator, in-game and on the website.
Fixes
- Your profile now matches your Nextendo account. After signing in, your Switch profile takes your Nextendo name and picture, and the green "N" is back — so the name shown in-game is your real Nextendo name, not a leftover local one. Accounts linked before this update are corrected automatically on the next launch.
Your profile stays in sync
- Change your name or picture in the emulator and it syncs straight to your account — the website, your friends and your in-game name all stay in agreement.
- Editing your Nextendo profile now requires being online: if the change can't reach your account, it's declined — so your profile can't silently drift out of sync with your identity.
Notes
- Windows: extract the zip, open the
publishfolder and runRyujinx.exe. - Linux: extract the tar.gz and run the
Ryujinxbinary insidepublish/. - Your games, keys and settings are untouched — this only updates the emulator.
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.6.7
Ryujinx-Nextendo 1.6.7
The biggest Nextendo update yet: signing in no longer touches your password, friends get favourites, and the whole sign-in flow is translated.
Fixes
- Restores online connectivity for all games. A networking change could stop the NAT check from completing and produce a communication error (2618-0201) when starting online play. If you were on 1.6.6, this update fixes it — just update and play.
Sign in with Nextendo
Linking your account used to mean typing your e-mail and password straight into the emulator. Not anymore. Account now opens a secure page in your browser — you sign in on nextendo.network itself and authorise the emulator from there, exactly like "Sign in with Google" or Discord. The emulator only ever receives a short-lived, single-use code (OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code + PKCE); your password never reaches it.
The sign-in and authorisation pages are fully translated into 10 languages and follow your browser's language automatically (right-to-left included). A "Not you? Switch account" button lets you change accounts in one click.
Favourite friends ⭐
Every friend now has a star. Tap it to mark a favourite (it turns gold), and your favourites rise to the top of the list. Favourites live on your account, so they stay in sync with the Nextendo website — star someone in the emulator and the star is there on the site too, and vice-versa.
Friends & presence — thanks @KKiiya
- New dialogues when you send a friend request (request sent / already friends), now translated.
- The online player count refreshes far more often (every 5 s, and whenever you reload the game list) and sits neatly next to the Nextendo indicator.
- The sign-in menu item moved into the Nextendo menu, and "Nextendo Network Account" is now simply Account.
- Your profile picture now shows in the account panel.
Under the hood — thanks @Juanjo3222
- A clear warning is now logged when the network environment variables aren't set, instead of silently falling back to loopback — much easier to diagnose a misconfigured setup.
