English

  • Ruler, set square and compass like on your desk: The three drafting tools in pen mode are rebuilt and work in real millimetres of the sheet. The ruler takes any length from 5 to 50 cm (grip at the left end, field or presets), carries a centimetre or inch scale and draws along both edges; while you draw, a small bubble reads off the length and the angle of the edge. The set square is a real Geodreieck: the long edge is the drawing edge with a scale from the centre (negative to the left, positive to the right), the double protractor 0–180° sits at its centre point, the two legs draw at 45°, parallel guide lines run inside the triangle, and F (or the grip) flips the apex to the other side. Near the ruler it attaches by itself, flush with the edge or with one leg perpendicular, and slides along it — parallels and perpendiculars just like ruler and triangle on paper (Alt while dragging: do not attach). The compass snaps its needle to the ruler and set square, measures the radius at the yellow dot against edges too (“transfer a measurement” with the radius locked), draws arcs at the green dot in the angle raster or by button at 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, 180°, 270° and full circles, clockwise or counterclockwise, optionally with a cross at the centre — and an arc stays round even when the sheet first has to grow for it.
  • Drafting tools with options: An “Options” button in the pen bar opens the “Drafting tools” card: unit (cm or inch), angle raster (free, 1°, 5°, 15°, 45°), magnet strength (off, soft, normal, strong), translucent tools, and per tool length, size, angle, radius, lock radius, pencil position, flip, parallels, attach, mark the centre, arc direction as well as pin, bring to the centre of the sheet and hide. Numbers can be typed or set with presets; the settings survive restarts, the tools lie where you left them in this session. Arrow keys move the last touched tool by 1 mm (Shift: 10 mm), Q/E rotate it. The pen still draws along the edge when it lands up to 6 mm inside the tool body; further in it moves the tool. The tools were rotated with a shear on non-square sheets and their snapping edges sat next to the drawn edge — rotation is now computed in millimetres, the tool layer coincides with the sheet instead of the camera margin, and a new tool always appears fully on the sheet. All labels, bubbles and messages are available in English too.
  • Text stays sharp and in shape under zoom: The sheet no longer re-wraps narrower as you zoom — percentage widths are multiplied by the zoom, so the camera enlarges the finished layout as a whole. Type no longer stretches or squashes, PDF pages no longer shrink back to the window width, and ink stays on its letters. The editor's line gutter scrolls with the text instead of sitting over the first letters when you pan sideways. Under Hyprland with force_zero_scaling, FaNotes renders at the real monitor factor from hyprctl instead of a fixed 2 (FANOTES_DEVICE_SCALE and GDK_SCALE are honoured); without force_zero_scaling the log points out the blurry compositor scaling.
  • Every note remembers its camera: Zoom and the paper point under the centre of the view come back when you reopen the note and after a restart — you continue exactly where you left off. Typed notes anchor to the line at the top edge so the position is right in long documents too. Any input of your own takes over the camera immediately; a jump from the outline or the search is no longer undone. The editor no longer doubles the scroll position under zoom (CodeMirror 6.43.11).
  • PDF without flicker and without empty margins: PDF pages are painted double-buffered — the next image is drawn on a hidden surface and swapped in only when finished, so scrolling and zooming never flash a page white. A PDF opens fitted to the window width; Width, Page and ± in the bar move the camera instead of rebuilding the column (ink stays 0–1 of the sheet), Width and Page follow the window size, and your own zoom or a remembered camera is never re-fitted. The space around the pages has one colour, and the loading placeholder no longer makes the column jump by 220 px.
  • Delete asks in its own card: The confirmation dialog has its own layout instead of the settings grid, Escape cancels, focus stays inside the dialog and Tab only switches between the two buttons.
  • Marker without streaks: Translucent brushes (marker, highlighter, watercolour) are painted as one shape and then laid down with their opacity, instead of segment over segment — no more seams, notches or dark overlaps in the line.
  • Erased stays erased: An erased stroke no longer comes back. A page erased to empty is saved instead of being skipped as “nothing to save”, and a note's first save no longer reloads its own state over what you have erased since.
  • English interface complete: The timestamps in the status bar, the hints for pen and tablet buttons and GlyphenWerk's “Write …” prompt appear in English.
  • Handwriting survives a note switch: Saved handwriting is back after switching to another note and returning — also in keyboard mode, where it was not loaded at all before. On opening, the pen layer grows only to the sheet instead of the sheet plus camera room; that endless growing crashed it on a note switch. A note shows and saves only its own ink: the previous note's ink could sit on the new sheet for a moment and be saved under the wrong note. Embedded ink keeps its note's id, so the pen does not continue on an old copy of the page, and after a switch in keyboard mode it accepts input again immediately.
  • Ink sits in the same place after the sheet grows: The page is saved with the sheet the strokes refer to, the ink surface is positioned in sheet pixels instead of percent, and the strokes are fitted to the grown sheet before every repaint. When the sheet grows by a text line or to the window height, handwriting no longer slides and no longer appears squashed when reopened.
