A big stability release.

Stability

  • Fixed the app closing when you used the remote shortly after launch. It wasn't a crash — the app was busy decoding its large channel and EPG caches, so Android judged it "not responding" and closed it. That work now runs in the background; the remote responds right away.
  • Startup is now sequenced: the splash waits until your catalog is ready, then the last channel resumes, then the guide loads — instead of all at once.
  • Movies and TV Shows can no longer go permanently blank if the local catalog database gets damaged; the app now rebuilds it automatically.

New

  • Backup servers: in Settings › Playlist Manager, add alternate server addresses for a playlist. If the main server is down, the app tries each backup (a few seconds apart) and remembers which one worked. A live channel that drops will also try to reconnect through your backups.
  • Clearer connection errors that name the server, plus a Retry button.
  • "What's New" in Movies and TV Shows: a slideshow of recently added titles. It's optional — pick it from the top of the groups list.

Updating from an older version keeps your playlists and favourites.
