NoXPlayer 3.38.10 — Custom EPG source, Channel Matching, gzip EPG support.

EPG

• Xtream playlists can now set a Custom EPG (XMLTV) URL, overriding the panel's own auto-derived xmltv.php link — useful when a provider's EPG is empty or unreliable even though the panel itself works fine. Same field M3U mode already had.
• EPG fetch now transparently handles gzip-compressed feeds (.xml.gz), a common way third-party XMLTV sources are served.
• New Settings > EPG > Channel Matching screen: shows every live channel's EPG match state, and lets you manually search the loaded feed's channel directory and assign one when automatic matching comes up empty — showing what each candidate is airing right now, so picking between near-identical entries (e.g. ESPN vs ESPN2 vs ESPNU) doesn't take trial and error.
• EPG channel-id matching is now case-insensitive, fixing a real case where two providers disagreed on casing for the exact same channel.

Includes everything from 3.38.x: the opt-in Timeline guide with the Up/Down time-column fix (Settings > Theme > Live TV guide), the Habs theme, the Movies/TV Shows redesign, hiding individual channels, and the Discord link for bug reports and suggestions.

Install: use the Downloader code, or Settings > Check for Updates in the app.

Fixes the on-screen keyboard on Add Playlist.

If the keyboard was dismissed, pressing OK on the field you were already on did nothing — you had to arrow off the field and back again to get it to reappear. OK now brings the keyboard back for whichever field is selected.

It was ordered by when your provider added a title, so a 1996 film added yesterday could headline it. It still leads with the most recent additions, but now only shows titles released this year.

NoXPlayer 3.36.1

Fixes the TV layout on first launch.

With Layout set to Auto (the default), Android TV boxes and Fire Sticks were opening in the phone layout. The app decided which layout to use from screen width, and a 1080p television reports a smaller logical size than the threshold expected — so it mistook televisions for phones.

It now asks Android directly whether the device is a television, so Auto gets it right on a TV box, a Fire Stick and a phone alike. If you had worked around this by setting Layout to TV manually, that still works and is untouched.

A big stability release.

Stability

• Fixed the app closing when you used the remote shortly after launch. It wasn't a crash — the app was busy decoding its large channel and EPG caches, so Android judged it "not responding" and closed it. That work now runs in the background; the remote responds right away.
• Startup is now sequenced: the splash waits until your catalog is ready, then the last channel resumes, then the guide loads — instead of all at once.
• Movies and TV Shows can no longer go permanently blank if the local catalog database gets damaged; the app now rebuilds it automatically.

New

• Backup servers: in Settings › Playlist Manager, add alternate server addresses for a playlist. If the main server is down, the app tries each backup (a few seconds apart) and remembers which one worked. A live channel that drops will also try to reconnect through your backups.
• Clearer connection errors that name the server, plus a Retry button.
• "What's New" in Movies and TV Shows: a slideshow of recently added titles. It's optional — pick it from the top of the groups list.

Updating from an older version keeps your playlists and favourites.

Beta build — What's New carousel for Movies/TV Shows.

• New "What's New" pinned entry above the groups column on Movies/TV Shows (TV layout), on by default when entering either tab.
• Auto-advancing slideshow of the 5 most recently-added titles (Xtream added/last_modified fields), 4s per title.
• Previous / Play / Next control row — no need to select the poster directly.
• Xtream-only: M3U playlists have no "recently added" data to sort by, so this stays quietly absent for those.

This is a Beta release (marked prerelease on GitHub) — it will NOT be picked up by the in-app "Check for Updates" or the permanent downloader-code URL. Sideload it directly to test.

The catalog's existing "press Left twice to exit back to groups" behavior now shows a small hint right next to the currently-focused poster's title the first time you hit the edge, so it's clear a second press is what actually exits — instead of the first press just silently doing nothing.

Account expiry date in Playlist Manager

Xtream logins now show the account's expiry date (right under Password in Login Details), when the provider reports one. Refreshed on every successful connect, not just when the playlist was first added — so it stays current if a provider extends or changes it. Shown in red if already past. M3U playlists, or an Xtream account that hasn't connected yet or genuinely has no expiry to report, show nothing here.

Fixes a self-inflicted white-screen regression

3.31.2's fix for the stuck catalog-sync-prompt buttons introduced its own new bug: a solid white screen for several real seconds on every cold launch, caused by the app's very first frame referencing service objects that hadn't been created yet. The splash screen (meant to show while caches/catalog load in the background, so the main app feels instantly ready once it opens) now reliably shows for that whole window again instead of intermittently crashing white.

This is separate from 3.31.9's native-launch-screen fix — both white-screen causes are now fixed.

Fixes the cross-tab selector leak — third time's the charm

Confirmed the previous two attempts weren't enough: just scrolling down the groups column in Movies (no tap needed at all), then switching to TV Shows, still left the selector partway down instead of at the top. The real cause was Flutter reusing each row's underlying focus state positionally across tabs, since nothing distinguished "row 15 in Movies" from "row 15 in TV Shows." Both groups columns now force a genuinely fresh rebuild on every tab switch.
