Dive in , the water's fine!
BLUF: 0.5 is arguably the reason I created CTRoadmap... The new Flow Swimlanes allow for tracking exactly how specific actions/processes unfold behind the scenes. And PNG exporting will make a great desktop wallpaper. If you're enjoying CTRoadmap, PLEASE consider leaving us a STAR here on GitHub to let other people know useful you're finding this FREE OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE. Also, created a YOUTUBE Playlist where any and all CTR Tutorials will live. (Link in settings)
1: NEW FLOW TILE (with SWIMLANE)
- (Swimlane Diagrams) : The new & improved FLOW tile has a "Flow Workspace" button in the inspector which will take you to a Swimlane chart editor screen. You can add flow elements (actions/notes/etc) that are local to the flow chart, add tiles from your atlas, or even LINK atlas tiles to flow elements.
- LANES can represent anything you designate, and they can be any of the tiles on your canvas. The Swimlane Diagram lives in READ ONLY Mode in your HANDBOOK (where it can be exported from).
- You can ADD Lanes and make them wider/taller based on how your place your tiles. The default 4 lane config will appear in full in your HANDBOOK, though if you make your chart bigger , you will have to scroll around in the READ ONLY HANDBOOK view to see it all. (Exporting it will export the whole chart)
- LEGACY FLOW TILES: If you happen to be using the older FLOW tiles , any currently on your canvas will remain supported for a few more version updates. You can't place new ones on your canvas (though I suppose you could duplicate existing ones, but they were poorly designed, so not sure why you'd want to). Recommend replacing them with new FLOW Swimlane tiles asap.
2: PNG EXPORT
- Can now select PNG from the Export dropdown. This will produce a high-res png export of the current layer you have displayed on your canvas. You can choose to name the exported image and have a blueprint style title card appear on the bottom right of the image. Or you can exclude the label and add your own later. Title cards come in light or dark modes.
- REMINDER: Export PNG will export only the layer you have visible on your screen when you Export.
- ADDITIONALLY: You can create a PNG Export of any Swimlane Chart you've created from the new FLOW tiles. This export is done from the HANDBOOK at the particular Swimlane you want to export.
3: Additional Updates/Changes
- Stop infinite scroll : A user named Micah expressed a desire to not deal with infinite scroll when the TILE PALETTE is collapsed. You got it Sir!! (Off switch found at the bottom of SETTINGS menu)
- Added Families to the CANVAS FILTER list: You can now hide just the shaded family tiles from the canvas OR Hide an ENTIRE family of tiles on your canvas. And by saving that view as a new layer you can now create family layers.
- Lowered the Mount child stack minimum from 2 child tiles to 1.
- Small changes to SETTINGS menu and added link to YOUTUBE Tutorials Playlist.
REMINDER: This "release" is just the release notes, if you're here for the first time and want to download the app, go back and select Packages, where the Docker Image link is located. Easy Peasy.
