FLauncher 12.2.0 — Optimization Suite Phase 2
FLauncher 12.2.0 — Optimization Suite, Phase 2
Builds on 12.1.0's Performance settings. Still all opt-in.
Discrete GPU forcing (Windows)
"Use discrete GPU" now registers your exact javaw.exe with Windows as a high-performance-GPU app (Settings > Display > Graphics) before the game starts. On dual-GPU laptops that were rendering Minecraft on the integrated GPU this is the single biggest win available; on desktops it does nothing. Turning the toggle off removes the entry — but only if FLauncher wrote it; a preference you set yourself in Windows Settings is never touched.
Old Java 8 safety guard
The tuned GC flags don't exist on Java 8 below update 40, and such a JVM would refuse to start with them. The generator now detects that and emits nothing instead of failing your launch.
Smart-heap visibility
- The launch log states when memory was sized automatically.
- The Java settings memory box shows a notice while automatic sizing is active, so the ignored spinboxes don't mislead.
From 12.1.0 (if you're jumping straight here)
Auto-optimized JVM flags (the 1.8.9 GC-stutter fix), automatic memory sizing, and game process priority — see the 12.1.0 notes.
FLauncher 12.1.0 — Optimization Suite
FLauncher 12.1.0 — Optimization Suite
New Performance section in Settings → Minecraft (and per-instance under Settings, with the override checkbox). Everything is off by default — if you don't touch it, launches are identical to 12.0.4.
Auto-optimized JVM flags
Tuned garbage-collector flags chosen for your Java version and RAM:
- Balanced (G1) — recommended for everyone. On Java 8 / MC 1.8.9 this replaces the default collector responsible for the classic periodic stutter with short, predictable pauses.
- Low latency (ZGC) — for Java 21+ with a 6 GB+ heap and 16 GB+ RAM; silently falls back to Balanced otherwise.
These target stutter and frame-time consistency, not average FPS. Anything you set yourself in the Java arguments box overrides the generated flags.
Automatic memory sizing
Picks -Xmx from your installed RAM and the game's Java generation (2–3 GB for 1.8.9-class, 4 GB for modern MC, never more than half your RAM). With RAM to spare it locks the heap size at startup to eliminate resize hitches. A per-instance Memory override always wins.
Game process priority (Windows)
Optionally run the game at Above normal (recommended) or High priority so background apps steal less CPU. Not applied when a wrapper command is set.
Notes
- Very old Java 8 builds (below update 40) may reject the tuned flags and exit at startup with a clear message in the log — disable the toggle if that happens; a guard ships in the next release.
- Auto-update from 12.0.x works as usual.
FLauncher 12.0.4
FLauncher 12.0.4 — Account Privacy
This release adds a set of features for running multiple Minecraft accounts
without them being linkable to the same person. Everything below is off or
inert until you configure it — normal instances are unaffected.
📖 Full setup guide: ACCOUNT_PRIVACY_GUIDE.md
New
- Lock an instance to one account. A bound instance now refuses to launch
if its account is missing or broken, instead of silently falling back to your
default account (which used to quietly expose the wrong account). - Per-instance proxy. Give each instance its own outgoing IP (SOCKS5/HTTP,
with optional auth). The proxy is applied to the game and exposed to mods as the
FLAUNCHER_PROXYenvironment variable so your in-game proxy mod can route the
server connection. - Pre-launch proxy check. Before launching a proxied instance, FLauncher
verifies the proxy is reachable and actually changes your IP. If not, it warns
before you connect on your real IP. - Per-instance game language. Override an instance's locale (e.g.
de_DE) so
its client language can match its proxy region. - Linkability Report. Scans your instances and flags anything that links two
accounts — a shared account, a shared proxy, or an unprotected instance. - Stream-safe mode. Masks account usernames in the UI for streaming/screen-share.
All settings and kill switches live under Settings → Launcher → Account Privacy.
Notes
- In-game server-connection routing is handled by your proxy mod via
FLAUNCHER_PROXY; the launcher routes the game's web traffic and hands off the
proxy. See the guide. - Every new safeguard has an off switch and defaults to safe. If something blocks
you, the kill switches are all in one place.
