🚀 Aura v3.1.0 – What's New

New Features

BLAKE3 Verification – A new, cutting‑edge hash algorithm that combines cryptographic security with speeds rivaling xxHash3. Ideal for users who want both assurance and performance without compromise. BLAKE3 joins existing Quick (xxHash3) and Full (SHA‑256) modes, selectable in Settings.

Per‑File Progress Panel – A clean, auto‑resizing panel now shows live, individual progress bars for each file being transferred simultaneously. This gives an at‑a‑glance overview of all active copies without cluttering the interface. Bars disappear automatically when files finish, keeping the UI focused.

Three Transfer Modes – Users can now choose the I/O strategy that best fits their hardware and task:

  • Normal – Standard buffered copy, compatible with all drives.

  • Turbo – Larger, sequentially‑optimised buffers for faster SSD transfers.

  • Extreme – Unbuffered Direct I/O for maximum speed on NVMe drives.

Each mode includes clear tooltips explaining the trade‑offs.

Cancellation Rollback – Cancelling a transfer now completely removes all files and folders that were created during the job, leaving the destination exactly as it was before the operation started. No more half‑copied leftovers.
Performance Improvements

Overall speed and ETA now reflect the entire job, not just the current file. These values remain stable and realistic, even when transferring many small files.

The smoothing algorithm prevents the displayed speed from jumping wildly during cache flushes, giving a more accurate and professional feel.

Thread‑safe speed tracking eliminated a rare race condition that could cause files to be skipped in Normal mode.

A new duplicate file transfer feature with user can find a duplicate of a file even if it's saved with a different name.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where speed and ETA would get stuck at “Calculating…” or flip to zero between files.

  • Resolved a problem where Normal mode could intermittently miss files during transfers.

  • Job cancellation now reliably deletes partially written files and empty directories.

  • The main form no longer unexpectedly appears from the tray when a new transfer starts.
