Log for Linux 0.3.1
A maintenance release after a month of contest use: the log now keeps the score while you operate, two more contest presets, and a run of fixes that came straight out of contest-day notes.
Highlights
- Live claimed-score estimate — points × multipliers in the contest subtitle (
307 pts × 49 mult = 15043), computed Pts/Mult columns showing what each QSO brought, and CLAIMED-SCORE prefilled in the Cabrillo dialog. The scoring rule is data in the contest's own template, so a contest keeps the rule it was run under. It is an estimate from your own seat — the sponsor's rescoring is the authority; SARTG is points-only and WAE scores without QTCs (a documented underestimate) - New presets: YO DX HF and SAC — SAC brought two generic rule pieces: validity by a list of DXCC entities (
No contest QSO — not Scandinavian (Germany)) and prefix-number multipliers per entity - Cabrillo CATEGORY-MODE and CATEGORY-BAND are prefilled from the logged QSOs, not from whatever the previous contest left in the dialog — both stay editable
- A QSO the contest's rule rules out asks before it is logged — "No contest QSO?" with the rule's reason; Cancel is the default, so a reflexive second Enter does not log it
- Exchange and Sent fields are upper-cased as you type, like the callsign
- A spot click no longer replaces the call under a row you have started typing into — once any field of the entry row is touched, the click is a no-op until the row is logged or cleared
- Table columns follow the font — with a wider UI font the UTC column lost its time
- Every icon the app uses is compiled into the binary — no
image-missingglyphs when the configured icon theme does not reach Adwaita - "Cannot open log" shows the database path once, not twice
- The .deb and .rpm now carry
cty.dat(#21) — the 0.2.0 and 0.3.0 packages shipped without it, so country resolution and per-contest QSO validity were silently off on Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora installs; the release pipeline now fails when a package misses a file the build installs. AppImage and AUR were not affected
Verification status, stated plainly: the engine side — scoring, presets, Cabrillo categories — is covered by the offline gates (10/10); the gates cannot see UI behaviour. The score and the Cabrillo categories were checked against the real YO DX HF 2026 log; the invalid-QSO dialog, the column widths and the icons were seen live. Still ahead: the SAC preset's first contest (SAC CW, 19–20 Sep, #17) and the at-the-radio pass of the spot-click fix (#1).

Log for Linux 0.3.0
The macros learn RTTY: the same F-key strip, ESM and Ctrl+K free-text window that key CW now key the radio's native direct-FSK RTTY through sdr-for-linux — dispatched by the log-mode dropdown, and nothing else about the macro workflow changes.
Highlights
- RTTY contest messaging over the TCI
rtty_macrosfamily: with the log mode on RTTY, the F1–F8/ESM macros and the Ctrl+K free-text window key the radio's RTTY generator (45.45 Bd FSK on the radio side) - Cut numbers stay a CW convention — in RTTY the digits go out verbatim (599, not 5NN); automatic, no new setting
- Esc is a panic key in both modes — every stop site fires both the CW and the RTTY stop; stopping an idle generator is a no-op, so the wrong queue can never keep running
- Mode pre-fill from the radio now recognizes RTTY — when the SDR switches to RTTY, the mode dropdown follows instead of going stale
- Hand-typed callsigns are upper-cased as you type
- New application icon — Papirus-style redesign, plus a 16×16 symbolic variant per the GNOME HIG
RTTY keying needs sdr-for-linux with the rtty_macros TCI extension (≥ f38aafd); older builds ignore the command and nothing transmits. Verification status, stated plainly: the whole path is covered by the offline gates (mock TCI radio, 10/10) and the radio side has live-keyed clean FSK — the first on-air macro-keyed RTTY QSO from this logbook is still ahead.

Log for Linux 0.2.0
Contest scoring awareness: the logbook now knows who counts in a contest, not just who is a dup. Contest-proven again — this exact app logged and submitted a full WAE DX Contest CW 2026 entry, accepted by the DARC robot.
Highlights
- Country resolution from cty.dat (AD1C table bundled; drop a newer snapshot into
~/.local/share/log-for-linux/cty.datto update it) - Per-contest QSO validity: WAE-style EU↔DX-only scoring, EU-only contests, zero-point own country — the verdict line tells you before you log ("No contest QSO — EU station (Finland)" vs "New call from Czech Republic")
- Invalid-QSO verdicts (
INV) also flow to skimmer-for-linux through the duplicate lookup service - Three new contest presets with rule-checked exchanges: WAE DX, CVA DX, SARTG WW RTTY (SSB/RTTY editions: edit the ADIF id suffix in the dialog)
- Worked-B4 / dup verdicts follow the active contest scope — a call worked in another log or contest is still new in this one
- Validity rules are backfilled into contests created with earlier versions
- Fix: ADIF export now exports only the open log (main log or the active contest) instead of the whole store — no more duplicate floods when uploading to QRZ.com and friends

Log for Linux 0.1.0
First release: a native GTK4/libadwaita ham radio logbook for Linux — the third app of the OK1BR family alongside sdr-for-linux and skimmer-for-linux. Contest-proven: this exact app logged, keyed and submitted a full EUHF Challenge 2026 CW entry.
Highlights
- Fast entry row with live worked-before / dup verdicts while typing; Enter anywhere logs
- QSO table with search and single-click inline cell editing
- Lossless ADIF 3.1 import/export (unknown fields preserved); SQLite store (WAL, one file)
- Contests as first-class log sections: exchange templates (CQ WW, CQ WPX, IARU HF, OK/OM DX, EUHFC, custom), per-contest serials, whole-contest dup rule, Cabrillo v3 export
- CW contest messaging over TCI: Run/S&P F-key banks, ESM, opt-in cut numbers, Ctrl+K free text, keyer speed on Page Up/Down
- TCI client to sdr-for-linux: entry row pre-filled from the live VFO, panadapter spot-click drops the call into the entry
- WSJT-X / JTDX UDP auto-logging with worked-B4 highlight replies
- Duplicate lookup service (UDP 2238) with unsolicited verdict pushes for skimmer-for-linux
