The Policy

GitHub users representing the Organisation are expected to use their official organisational email addresses for usernames and profile information.  It is acceptable for an individual to use their own GitHub account; where a personal account is used the user must add their official ONS email address as secondary email on the GitHub profile.

The Implementation

  • Add your work email either as a primary or secondary email address
  • Always enable multi factor authentication when creating a GitHub account
