- Authentication failures —
[err=26] Authentication check failed— when adding or activating QuantaStor storage. The plugin authenticated using LWP challenge-response, which attaches theAuthorizationheader only after the appliance issues a401 WWW-Authenticate: Basicchallenge whose realm matches exactly. Many QuantaStor versions answer an unauthenticated API request with an err=26 body under HTTP 200 instead of a challenge (and the realm string varies across versions), so the client sent no credentials and the appliance rejected the request — indistinguishable from a wrong password even when the password was correct (curl -uagainst the same appliance worked). The client now sends HTTP Basic credentials preemptively on every request, matchingcurl. No configuration change is required — just upgrade the plugin.
