Alpha 0.10 - BIG BIG CHANGES!
Wow! This release got an extra version bump due to the number of features it has implemented.
ALPHA 0.10 CHANGELOG
[major changes]
- implements search - search, and ye shall receive (in a MessageBox). Works much like modern search boxes, press ENTER to search.
- added automatic removal of the @ from your handle while logging in - no longer have to do manually (yes, you can now login with it)
- added ToolStrip
- ToolStrip buttons are now mapped to their corresponding Menu Bar entries
- added Reauthenticate button on ToolStrip
- implements Aero icons for the ToolStrip - you cannot add your own icon themes as of now, but it's planned.
(I am aware that the Classic icons look significantly worse than the Aero ones due to the 256 colors and the bad scaling) - added ability to create and save digital signature (much like e-mail) for your posts in Settings and the
option to toggle it on or off in the Composer. It is on by default for Quick Post, this can also be toggled in Settings.
This is the first feature (of many more to come) Cerulean has that Bluesky doesn't. - added (on a new thread) refresh token functionality (automatic and manual), so your token won't expire at random times
- added the Quick Post box to quickly type a text post without the Post Composer.
- "Marquee" progress bar animation instead of static for login menu
- uploaded build is now .zip instead of .rar. This will allow you to open, extract, and run Cerulean without 7-Zip or WinRAR
[minor changes]
- added "Aero" fade in-fade out style for hovered-over butons. Should only affect people with Windows Vista-7 UI
- using JSON Objects (Newtonsoft.Json) instead of manually formatting string with JSON. This should make the amount of
data transferred over the internet smaller, fix parsing issues server-side, and make the code much more readable and maintainable - added multithreading to Post and Quick Post (only Login had it previously)
- fixed parsing of null values bug
- defined new global background worker skyWorker and new global thread skyThread for multithreading across all methods
- added exception catcher to logging in, stopping an invalid PDS Host from crashing the program
- added exception catcher to post-spamming, which overloads the API, and (since it's not declared as an object) raising an exception.
- prevented resizing of any window except the main UI window (fluid movement not implemented yet, but enabled for debugging)
- update settings registry reset to use RegKit(), making code readability better
- allow RegKit() to accept all objects, not just string
- changed initial login response store from global variable to return value
- changed endpoint string to encompass full endpoint (example: server.CreateSession -> com.atproto.server.CreateSession)
Alpha 0.20 will have feed viewing and replying, at the very least. It's not going to be the next release though.
I have started work on a 64-bit version of Cerulean that targets .NET 4.6.1 and requires Windows Vista and up.
