Wow! This release implements changes, optimizations, and features on all levels. It is so significant that it has merited another version bump.

New features

  • You can now upload images to posts! When you copy an picture (from a screenshot tool, Google search results, or such) and press Ctrl+V in the Post Composer text box, you will be presented with a menu for image uploading. (The Upload Media button does not work)
  • You can now reset your password from the login screen by clicking "Forgot password?".
  • You can now check the status of your PDS server (online, down, etc) in the Change PDS Host menu.
  • You will now receive the full, structured JSON of your search results and feeds. These will be stored in text files in the same directory cerulean.exe is in.
  • The progress bar that counts the amount of characters in a post is now fully functional. In addition, there is also a numeric character counter.
  • There is now a Cerulean Error Handler that gracefully handles internet connectivity and server-side errors.

Changes

  • Logo redesign. Now looks much more glassy and clean, and less cheap. The new logo has fully replaced the old one in the app, but not on the website or in the repo as of yet.
  • Major visual overhaul that takes after the early Mac OS X "Aqua" design. All backgrounds are now pinstripe-textured. The bars on the Main menu are glossy gradient textured.
  • Changed colors of some text labels
  • Labels and UI elements' backgrounds have been made transparent to accommodate the new texture background and future theme switching. (Dark mode is planned)
  • The About Menu has been completely redesigned.
  • The marquee progress bars no longer clip the edges of the window.
  • Various optimizations to SkyBridge.
  • POST and GET requests are now made with one function, Skybridge.Request().
  • Naming scheme of build binaries and scheme/format of changelog has been finalized for future releases starting with Alpha 0.20. It will not differ from this point onwards without good reason.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a bug where the main window would often resize itself (introduced Alpha 0.0.1)
  • Fixed a bug where a high resolution favicon was used, crashing program on Windows 98, 98SE, and ME (introduced Alpha 0.1.2)
  • Various other bugfixes.

Some backend changes will no longer be listed in the changelog. I have found them to be too numerous to keep documenting. This should help reduce changelog size and remove redundant "changes" that aren't very important.

The next release will primarily be a bugfix release fixing the numerous bugs introduced with all the Alpha 0.20 features.

Display of posts will most probably arrive in Beta 0.1.
