v0.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 26 Sep 19:16
41892f9

What's new

  • Smoother online playback: web videos and audio tracks now buffer up to 30 s ahead, and dropped connections reconnect automatically.
  • Full YouTube caption list with type-to-search (search works by language name in English or natively), and the correct original language on auto-dubbed videos.
  • Reworked Subtitles options: each zone gets a track you can swap at any time, like audio outputs.
  • Subtitle tracks that fail to load (e.g. YouTube rate limits) are retried automatically.
  • The timeline no longer runs past the end of a video.
  • Timeline tooltip is now always above the cursor.
  • GitHub page, refactoring, and native libraries are now downloaded at build time instead of being stored with Git LFS.

What's Changed

  • Network buffering, full caption list, subtitle tab rework and auto-retry by @OpportunV in #13

v0.2.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Aug 12:42

Highlights

  • Open URL playback — File → Open URL... resolves and streams a page's audio+video directly via yt-dlp, no manual download step.
  • Multi-track dubs and captions from URLs — when a URL exposes multiple audio dubs or caption tracks, they show up as ordinary routable audio/subtitle tracks, same as a local file's, including auto-generated captions (original language, plus a translation into the app's own UI language when available).
  • External subtitle files — attach a subtitle file to an already-open video from Options, on top of whatever the source itself provides.
  • Multi-source audio sessions — the engine now supports pulling audio/subtitles from more than one source at once (what URL dub tracks need under the hood); sidecar sources open lazily, only once actually routed to an output, so opening a multi-dub URL stays fast.
  • UI redesign — refreshed look across the main window, popups, and dialogs.
  • Loading indicator while a URL is being resolved, and a configurable yt-dlp path in Options (with a file picker) for setups where it isn't on PATH.

Requirements

  • URL playback needs yt-dlp installed separately (winget install yt-dlp.yt-dlp / brew install yt-dlp / pip install -U yt-dlp). Optional — not required for local files.

What's Changed

  • Open URL feature, subtitle file loading, UI small redesign by @OpportunV in #8

v0.1.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Aug 21:07

macOS now confirmed working on real hardware (Apple Silicon) and ships as a proper
signed .dmg instead of a bare tarball. Also fixes fullscreen exit and adds a native
top menu on macOS, plus a couple of Linux/AppImage fixes.

What's Changed

  • Actions adjustments, issue templates, security.md by @OpportunV in #5
  • Mac .dmg build, linux full screen fix, output filter, menu to native menu by @OpportunV in #6

Full Changelog: v0.1.0...v0.1.1

v0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Aug 19:46

First public release.

Highlights

  • Route different audio tracks from one file to different output devices simultaneously, each with independent volume
  • Playback speed control (0.5x–2x, pitch-preserving)
  • Subtitles with positionable, styleable on-screen zones
  • Light/dark/system theme

Platform notes

  • Windows — fully supported
  • Linux — supported, but real-world testing so far has only been on a single Ubuntu VirtualBox VM; broader distro coverage is unverified
  • macOS — builds are produced by CI but not yet verified on real hardware; requires brew install ffmpeg@7 first, and the app is unsigned/unnotarized (see README for the Gatekeeper workaround)

Windows builds are also unsigned, so SmartScreen will warn on first run — click More info → Run anyway.

See the README for the full feature list and known limitations. Bug reports and feedback welcome via Issues.
