Arkline 26.10.11.13

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Oct 02:47
78fdc5d

Arkline 26.10.11.13 adds an authored Pioneer hull model, replacing the placeholder hull in the hangar and flight renderer. The editable Blender source and exported GLB are included in the repository. Native and browser clients load the same embedded model, with bounded geometry/node validation and a procedural fallback.

The current importer supports the documented static mesh subset; it is not a general animated character importer. A native isolated comparison reduced ship-and-turret draw calls from 69 to 15, with increased triangle count and no measured isolated regression. That comparison is not a full-game frame-time benchmark.

Existing game servers remain on 26.10.11.11; this client-only release does not restart the servers or alter saved worlds. Source: 78fdc5d.

Windows is cross-built and Wine-tested; native Windows GUI/audio acceptance remains separate. macOS is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. This remains an early-access build.

Arkline 26.10.11.12 moves layout saving off the render thread and smooths on-foot turning for the avatar and following camera. It also reuses static hangar and deck geometry to reduce repeated CPU work.

Layout edits are coalesced by a background writer, with retry/error reporting and a bounded shutdown drain. Movement remains server-authoritative. The existing .11 game servers and persistent worlds are unchanged by this client release.

Validation includes client tests, strict Clippy, WASM compilation, layout write failure/ordering tests, the twelve-room application-input journey, and optimized native startup/interior/camera/boarding checks. This release does not establish that every reported freeze is resolved or demonstrate a before/after frame-time improvement. Issue #36 remains open for reproduction and gameplay acceptance.

This is a developer alpha. Native Windows graphics/audio and a complete native held-key walkthrough remain unverified; macOS is ad-hoc signed, not notarized.

@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Oct 11:48

The official Arkline logo now appears in the startup and sign-in screens across the desktop and browser clients.

Windows, macOS, Linux and browser packages were built on self-hosted runners and verified against source commit e590a0683fc07558069c4f975b9c6e1ed6e6964e. Downloads include matching source, licenses, third-party notices and checksums.

The public browser client was checked at build 26.10.11.8, including the official logo, Production/Test relay selection and a real Test connection to the station hangar. Existing game servers retain their verified TLS build; this client release did not restart them.

Windows is cross-built and Wine-tested; native Windows GUI/audio acceptance remains separate. macOS is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Linux desktop interaction remains separately unverified.

Browser: https://play.arkline.network
Downloads and checksums: https://downloads.arkline.network/26.10.11.6/SHA256SUMS

All platforms were built on self-hosted runners. Downloads include matching vendored source and third-party notices. Windows is cross-built and Wine-tested; native Windows GUI/audio acceptance remains separate. macOS is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Linux desktop interaction remains separately unverified.

Production and Test world identity, balances, inventory and prior ledger preservation were verified after deployment. The isolated Test station journey verified jump, landing, walking, boarding and resume.

Known native-client issue: the official secure WebSocket connection may panic because the Rust TLS crypto provider is not explicitly configured. Native downloads are retained for reproducibility but are not recommended for official-server play in this version. Use the browser client; a native hotfix is being prepared. The browser and server WSS acceptance above does not establish native-client WSS acceptance.

Arkline 26.10.11.5 — Early access

Choose a tag to compare

@thepherm thepherm released this 11 Oct 07:07

Arkline 26.10.11.5 adds a browser client and secure connections to the official early-access universe.

Play at https://play.arkline.network or download a desktop client from https://p.industries/arkline. Desktop and browser clients default to Production; choose Test for a separate world, or Custom for a community server. Accounts and saved state are scoped to the selected server. Browser and desktop credentials are stored separately; automatic credential transfer is not included.

This release includes Windows x64, Linux x64, Apple Silicon macOS, WebAssembly, community server binaries, matching source archives, license notices, platform build manifests and SHA-256 checksums. The code is licensed AGPL-3.0-only; the trademarks policy covers the Arkline and P.Industries branding. Publishing these artifacts does not change repository visibility.

Validation: workspace tests and strict Clippy, native platform CI, WebAssembly CI, browser gameplay checks, and public production/test authentication and state-isolation checks. Windows and Linux graphical gameplay have not been manually verified on physical machines.

Known limits: this is an early-access game, not a finished or hostile-load-certified service. Windows packages are unsigned and require the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 runtime and Universal CRT. macOS packages are ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Browser voice/SSH model interpretation and local server hosting are unavailable; reconnect is manual and uncertain commands are not replayed. Browser play currently targets desktop keyboard and mouse. Rejected WebSocket Origins can surface as an edge 502; health monitoring must use GET /health, not HEAD.

Arkline 26.10.11.11

@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Oct 22:19

Arkline 26.10.11.11 adds the first walkable Pioneer interior and cleans up controls when moving around on foot.

  • Explore twelve rooms across two docked Pioneer decks, with a validated lift and airlock return.
  • Switch between first-person and third-person views. The third-person camera follows behind your character; WASD or arrows move, right mouse turns/looks, and Space jumps.
  • Ship-operation controls are hidden while walking and return after boarding.
  • Older clients safely return an interior pilot to the hangar on authenticated reconnect. Interior entry is blocked while older/terminal sessions for that pilot are present; close those clients and reconnect all remaining sessions to restore entry.
  • Pioneer has a more enclosed industrial hull, with shaped armor and improved fleet surface detail.
  • Read the ship concepts, subsystem lifecycles, engineering requirements, and contributor asset checks in the Wiki.

This remains a developer alpha. Interior equipment is mostly non-operational; electrical networks, life support, water, structural loads, and heat rejection are documented plans, not simulated systems. Interiors currently support the docked Pioneer only. The lift uses a fixed transition, and the interior is not yet registered within the exterior mesh. GLB inspection is available for contributions; runtime GLB loading is not included.

Validation includes the full application-input journey through both decks, server collision/lift/restart checks, native GPU captures, and native entry/camera/jump/exit/board/undock checks. A complete native OS held-key walkthrough remains unverified because the automation interface cannot hold keys. Native Windows graphics/audio acceptance and macOS notarization remain outstanding.

04e2af9

Arkline 26.10.11.10 updates ship lighting and industrial fleet models, and adds an in-game layout viewer for decks, rooms, service fixtures and dimensions. The layout viewer is a design reference; it does not make every room walkable or every service operational.

Lighting includes material response, local system lights and nearby sun shadows with quality controls. These are raster lighting effects, not hardware ray tracing.

Download a native macOS, Windows or Linux client, or play in the browser. Production is the default network; Test remains selectable. Live game servers are unchanged by this client release.

Packages include matching vendored source, license and dependency notices. macOS is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Windows is cross-built and Wine-tested; native Windows installation, graphics and audio acceptance remains separate. Linux desktop interaction has not been independently verified on a physical Linux desktop.

Arkline 26.10.11.3 — Developer downloads

Choose a tag to compare

@thepherm thepherm released this 11 Oct 06:08

Arkline developer preview 26.10.11.3 adds separate client and dedicated-server downloads, with matching vendored source, third-party notices and SHA-256 checksums. The client includes a local server so you can start a universe without external accounts or infrastructure.

The source and original assets are licensed under AGPL-3.0-only unless marked otherwise. Third-party components retain their own licenses. Each archive includes its source revision and build details in RELEASE.json.

This is an early development build. Use a local universe or an authenticated private tunnel; the game transport is not ready for direct public Internet access. The macOS client is ad-hoc signed and is not Apple notarized. The release targets Apple Silicon macOS, x86-64 Linux and x86-64 Windows. Windows downloads are unsigned. Linux builds use Ubuntu 22.04 and require compatible system window/audio libraries. Interactive graphics and audio have not been validated on every platform.

The gameplay build includes cockpit and tactical flight, mining drones, station hangars and quarters, the ship computer, resource jobs and a persistent economic ledger. See the included README and validation documentation for controls, tested behavior and known limitations.

Verify downloads against SHA256SUMS before extracting. Keep world saves and pilot credentials outside the download directory when upgrading.

This build fixes verifier checkpoint persistence on Windows. The release keeps the server and client protocol unchanged.

Windows ZIP creation now handles the historic timestamps preserved in vendored license files. Each target has a separate matching source archive and RELEASE-TARGET.json manifest; use the matching source when rebuilding.

Windows requires the x64 Microsoft Visual C++ v14 runtime and the Universal CRT. Install the supported Microsoft runtime if it is not already present.

Workspace tests and packaging passed on all three build runners. These checks do not replace interactive graphics and audio testing on supported hardware.
