NEW
• Polls. I can ask you things inside What is new, and you answer with 👍 or 👎. Totals are public, who voted what is not.
• What is new is now a list of titles, newest first, split into Updates and Polls. Tap a title to read it.
• The widget, its chart and the pinned notification use your own glucose colours.
• The pinned notification is coloured by your zone, with a stripe and a tint that follow the reading.
• A 24h button on the Overview: the last twenty four hours in one line, without the midnight cut.
• Steps from Health Connect under the chart, with the steps of that hour when you tap a point.
• Every entry in Events now has a menu with Edit and Delete, no swipe needed.
• Your readings are kept in your account, so a new phone gets them back when you sign in.
• Alerts for glucose that is moving fast, rise and fall, off until you turn them on.
• The full screen number can show the number alone, or the day chart with it.
FIXED
• Health Connect ran out of read quota during the day, which left charts empty for hours.
• Steps could silently show nothing when Health Connect was busy. It now says so.
• A day that peaked at 460 was drawn flat at 400.
• The widget could say 83% in range where the app said 50%.
• A correction applied backwards during a sensor change could silence a low alert.
• A repeat alert skipped every other cycle.
• The pinned notification could refuse to start for people not using Health Connect.
• The Overview did not refresh on its own for people not using Health Connect.
• Some labels were hard to read in light mode.
• The beta badge showed on accounts that joined after the beta.
• Blocking someone did not work.
• The update check could say you were up to date when it had failed to ask.
InRange 1.0.7
How to update
Open InRange and tap Update on the banner at the top of Overview. Android will ask you to allow installing from InRange the first time: say yes, then Install. Your data stays where it is.
No banner? Download the .apk below and open it.
New
- Home screen widget in three sizes: 2x1, 2x2 and 4x2. The bigger ones draw your day, with a dot for every meal, dose and walk, and a colour key. Hold the home screen, Widgets, InRange, and drag the size you want.
- Sensor correction: if your sensor reads high or low against your finger sticks, say by how much. It belongs to that sensor and goes away with it.
- Snooze on an alert: quiet for a while, without switching it off.
- Touch and hold a chart to read the value and the time at that point.
- Sensor picker: pick the brand, then the model. Dexcom G7 15 Day is in there.
- Big number: one tap from the day row, and the screen stays awake.
- Coach mode: where your glucose is heading over the next thirty minutes.
Not fully tested yet
These shipped without being seen working on a real phone, so treat them as new:
- Steps: your Health Connect steps under the chart, and the steps of that hour when you tap a point. Switch it on in Settings, Style.
- The thirty minute forecast. Never a reason to dose. If it disagrees with your sensor, your sensor is right.
- Steps. Nothing appears unless another app writes steps to Health Connect.
- The change to repeated low alerts.
If any of them behaves oddly, tell me from Settings, Privacy, Report a problem.
Fixed
- Turning on the ongoing notification could kill the app. Eight phones hit this.
- Signing in with a different account on this phone no longer sends the previous person's meals, doses and inventory to the new account.
- The bottom bar cut the words, and More could not be tapped on some phones.
- Low alerts no longer repeat when the sensor wobbles across your low line.
- On a pump, the insulin you log with a meal now appears in your report.
- Health Connect no longer asks you to connect it after you already allowed it.
- A threshold no meter could read is refused. It used to switch your high alert off.
- A restored backup with the range upside down is refused.
- A finger stick is no longer counted as a sensor reading, and GMI is not built from a handful of them.
- Time in a zone counted minutes the sensor never measured.
- The top of the chart cut readings off.
- The setup wizard can be finished on a new install, with or without a sensor.
- The report divides insulin by the days that insulin has been logged.
- A report of a year now shows the year on both dates.
- Time in range says how many readings it came from when there are only a few.
- One reading no longer colours a whole day of the calendar.
- Variability shows nothing instead of 0% when there is a single reading.
- A sensor saved as "Other" needs a name.
- Events stops saying "Today" after midnight.
- Tapping a dot in the meal window says what it was, and the window lists everything logged inside it.
- The Settings menu is no longer half English in Spanish and French.
- Update notices work whatever the release is tagged.
InRange 1.0.6
InRange 1.0.6
Please update. 1.0.5 could delete your older glucose history. This build fixes that, and
brings back everything your account already has stored in the cloud.
Your history stays
- Fixed: the app could throw away readings older than about a month. When a phone ran low on
storage the whole cache was cleared in one go, and what came back was only what Health Connect
still had, which is usually 30 days. Now the oldest days are released a little at a time, and
if nothing can be saved the previous copy is left exactly where it was. A shorter old history
beats none. - Your cloud archive is now read back. Every reading has been safely on the server for months
and the app never asked for it. Look further back than your phone holds and those months load in. - Five years of history, not ninety days. Recent days stay minute by minute, older ones thin
out to one point every five and then fifteen minutes, which does not move your average, time in
range, GMI or variability at all. - Report gained 1 year, 2 years and 5 years ranges. A yearly review asks about the
first one and the app could not answer it at all before. - Fixed: history older than five years was fetched and then thrown away before being drawn.
Your account keeps everything for ever, and the app was refusing to show you the oldest part of
it, then downloading it again on the next visit. The phone still only stores about five years,
but anything older now loads from your account when you ask for it.
When the phone is full
- Deleting an event and logging an injection could fail with nothing written and nothing said.
Deleting mattered most: it is the only way to correct a dose typed wrong. You now get told. - If the phone refuses storage entirely, the app keeps working for the session instead of dying
on the first screen.
Backups and sync
- The app now syncs on launch. Opening it, glancing at your glucose and closing it backed up
nothing at all before, because syncing only started when you opened certain tabs. - Editing your inventory or settings, without touching an event, could skip the whole sync.
- A reminder for medication could cancel your sensor, basal and weekly reminders. The notification
numbers overlapped.
Friends
- Tap a friend to open their profile: streak, time in range, current reading, weekly and monthly
averages, island. Each section says in words when they have not shared it, instead of showing a
blank or a zero that reads like a bad week. - A friend's glucose is coloured against their target, not yours.
Older phones
- Fixed: on an Android WebView from before mid 2021, nothing could be saved at all. Every
screen drew normally and then Save did nothing, silently, for ever. It affected meals, doses,
pens, sensors and readings alike.
