PageBrick 1.7.0
- Messages from the contact form tell the client when they arrive. The bell at the top of the panel, which only administrators had, is now for everyone who signs in: it says "You have 2 new messages from the contact form", and the Messages item of the menu gets a number beside it (the dot of the Content icon lights too). Opening the screen clears them. The administrators' own notices (an update, a plugin switched off) stay for administrators. This needs the Contact form plugin 1.2.0, which sites get from the catalog (Plugins → Update).
- Two new filters for plugins,
panel_badges(a number beside a plugin screen in the menu) andpanel_notices(lines in the bell). They only add: nothing that existed changes, and a plugin that uses them on an older PageBrick just never has them asked. - A photo beside your name. My account has a Photo card: choose a picture (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 5 MB), drag it and zoom into place inside a circle, and send; it takes the place of the initials at the top of the panel. Remove photo brings the initials back. It asks for no password. One new column in the database, added by the update.
- The full list is in the CHANGELOG.
Update: this is a feature release, so it is announced in the panel and installed when you choose: Settings → Updates → Update to 1.7.0. The update checks every page of the site afterwards and goes back by itself if anything breaks. Then, in Plugins, update the Contact form (1.2.0) and the Blog (1.2.0): both appear in the Content list of the menu, and the contact form tells when a message arrives.
New install: download pagebrick-1.7.0.zip below, upload what is inside its pagebrick folder to your hosting (including .htaccess, which some programs hide), create a MySQL database and open the site. Requirements: PHP 8.2+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, Apache with mod_rewrite.
