This document is an overview of the various components within the Alcatraz game
#Components ##Warden AI ?
##Inmate Statistics There are 6 number of statistics that govern an inmates game within their prison session:
###Time In The number of minutes an inmate has been playing Alcatraz. This statistic is used to determine leader board status and inmate rank.
###Time Left A timer that displays the number of minutes left before the inmate is executed. Inmates are able to purchase additional minutes, prolonging their execution. You can find more about execution in the Execution section below.
To view the cost of each additional minute as an inmate, execute the command /alc cost
To purchase additional minutes as an inmate, execute the command /alc buy minute # where # is the number of minutes you'd like to purchase.
###Strikes Strikes can be accumulated by inmates for a variety of reasons (ie looting, having contraband). Strikes are awarded automatically by the AI warden. Players begin their game with 0 strikes. If an inmate accumulates 2 strikes, they are warned of their execution upon receiving 3. In the event that inmates would like to prolong their execution, they can purchase strike removals whose cost is dependent upon how many strikes an inmate currently has.
To view the cost of a strike removal as an inmate, execute the command /alc cost
To purchase a strike removal as an inmate, execute the command /alc buy strike# where # is the number of strikes you'd like to erase. You can have a minimum of zero strikes, you cannot have a negative strike balance.
###Kills The number of kills an inmate accumulates is directly associated with the number of other inmates the player kills. There is no maximum number of kills than an inmate can accumulate.
###Money Inmates are given a configured amount of starting money (typically $500) when beginning a new game in Alcatraz to be used for spending. Currently, funds can be used to purchase items from the prison commissary shop (coming in v1.6), additional minutes unit execution and to remove a strike.
If players have an economy balance (Alcatraz uses Vault) prior to joining a game, their entire balance will be deposited into their prison account to be used for spending. Likewise, if players have a prison balance greater than the configured starting value, that amount will be returned and deposited into the player's economy account upon leaving the game. This means that players can perform jobs within Alcatraz in order to raise funds that can be used outside of Alcatraz.
###Rank Coming in v1.6!
##Execution Unique to Alcatraz, an objective of the clock ticking down to execution encourages players to make the most of their time in prison, prolonging execution for as long as possible. When players first begin their game, they're given a configured amount of minutes remaining before execution. As the minutes pass while the player is online, minutes are deducted from the inmate's "time left" timer. In efforts to encourage interaction between inmates and jobs, inmates have the ability to purchase additional minutes to prolong their execution. As their timer gets closer to 0, the more expensive remaining minutes become. When the timer reached 5 minutes, inmates are reminded to do something else face execution.Players can also be executed for accumulating too many strikes in game. When either their time left timer hits 0 or their strikes counter hits 3, players are "executed" and ejected from their game in Alcatraz. Players are then free to play Minecraft normally or can join another game of Alcatraz, but must start completely over.
