Botty+ 2.0.0 — Switch emulation on PS5
Botty+ 2.0.0 — Switch emulation on PS5
Botty+ 2.0.0 brings Switch emulation directly into the PS5 app. The new
Emulation tab includes a bundled ProsperoEden engine: a separate
ProsperoEden installation is no longer required. Launch a game from Botty+
and return to Botty+ when you exit.
Switch games, updates and DLC
- Search the configured trackers from Emulation and choose whether to download
on the PS5 or a configured dedicated server before confirming. - Automatically extract supported RAR/ZIP archives, including multipart and
nested archives, then analyze and import supported NSP/XCI content. - Identify base games, updates and DLC from content metadata. Bundles containing
several content types are imported together; names alone do not determine type. - Check container structure, CNMT identities, required content sizes and hashes
before making an import available. This checks consistency, not Nintendo
signatures. NSZ/XCZ are not supported. - Follow download, extraction, verification and import in Activity, with explicit
errors when content cannot be prepared. Original downloads are preserved.
The public release contains the engine and corresponding sources, not games,
firmware or prod.keys. Use your existing private copies through the separately
configured private Portal provisioning endpoint. See the
emulation guide
for requirements and supported formats.
Config and UltraCam
Open the embedded engine's complete Config screens directly from Botty+.
Use global defaults or select a game and press Options for per-game overrides.
Output resolution, internal render scale, refresh rate and frame generation are
separate settings.
An optional bundled UltraCam 1.0.1 mod adds per-game controls for
Breath of the Wild 1.6.0: target FPS, game resolution, quality, render
distance, field of view and camera settings. It starts disabled. Compatibility
and payload checks gate activation; Botty+ preserves other mods and refuses to
overwrite modified or unmanaged mod files. UltraCam by MaxLastBreath is
separately licensed CC-BY-NC-2.0; attribution and license ship with the bundle.
Selecting 60 FPS or 2160p is a target, not a performance guarantee. Console
testing confirmed playable BOTW with UltraCam at 1152p and internal scale 1×;
the measured session averaged about 47 FPS, rather than a sustained 60 FPS.
Also included since 1.7.0
- Choose PS5 rTorrent or dedicated-server qBittorrent downloads, with resumable
HTTPS imports to the console and server originals preserved. - Parallel direct-download imports with durable range checkpoints and improved
PS5 HTTPS transfer buffering. - Unified game preparation and Activity reporting, including server-side FPKG
conversion. - Discover refreshes on launch and expired rankings update automatically.
- Fixes for Switch update/DLC validation, packed game imports, private runtime
access, search text, destination selection and recoverable preparation errors. - Native updater tests follow the current public release and retain explicit
protection against downgrading the native app.
Package and validation
The public version is 2.0.0 (PS5 content version 02.000.000). The bundle
retains manager 1.10.4, compression worker 1.3.1 and rTorrent
0.16.24-botty10. Portal+ remains a separately versioned product; publishing
this release does not deploy Portal+ or install anything on a running console.
The native app is rebuilt on the dedicated server with its pinned runtime.
The package includes source archives, license notices and SHA-256 checksums.
Prior PS5 acceptance covered Mario Kart launch/return, Mario Tennis launch,
and playable BOTW with UltraCam. The new 2.0.0 version stamp is not a new
console acceptance run.
Botty+ 1.7.0 — Redesigned PS5 app
The native app is redesigned around four tabs: Discover (Explore and search), Activity (downloads and file operations in one list), Library and System (remote access, updates, Reconnect and Close Botty+). Circle no longer opens a quit dialog.
Getting a game takes one Get game sheet: source, install-on disk and after-download mode, with the button focused first and the last disk and mode remembered for the session. Extraction uses one sheet with the archive picked automatically, an optional password entered with the PS5 keyboard and a destination. Pause, resume and verify run immediately; every destructive action still asks once more, inline, with Cancel focused. Successful requests show a short toast; failures stay on screen until Circle dismisses them.
The interface follows the new visual system: one accent color, a white focus ring, Manrope at two weights and cover art behind Discover and Details.
This bundle keeps manager 1.5.4, compression worker 1.3.1 and rTorrent 0.16.24-botty10; their versions and the service API are unchanged. The PS5 native version is 01.007.000.
Since 1.5.4
1.6.0 was merged but never published as a GitHub release, so this is the first release since 1.5.4. It also includes 1.6.0: one public version shared by the app header, footer and releases, the PS5 system keyboard for search and magnet entry, and the rTorrent descriptor fixes (stale errno after recovery, torrent file cache capped at 64 descriptors).
Portal+ (jailbreak, DNS and installers) now lives in Portablelle/Portal-Plus and is versioned independently. The release asset is therefore botty-plus-1.7.0.tar.gz instead of botty-portal-*.tar.gz. Full change list: v1.5.4...v1.7.0.
Validation
The native title is cross-built with the pinned SDK, and an independent rebuild reproduces every packaged file byte for byte. Host checks, renderer previews and package verification pass. A first launch on a PS5 opened the app, but full console acceptance (TV readability, the complete Discover → Activity → Library flow) is still pending.
Botty+ 1.5.4 — Faster Codex launch
LAUNCH with Codex enabled no longer hashes the entire native title, Whisper model and engine on every session. After successful verification, a release-bound receipt stores each file's size, inode and modification/change metadata. Unchanged files receive a quick metadata check; modified files, invalid/missing receipts or unavailable metadata fall back to full verification.
The first launch after upgrading from portal 1.5.3 verifies the installed files once to create the receipt. Installation, interrupted-update recovery and downloaded content retain their complete hash checks.
The engine now makes one SHA-256-verified transfer to the ELF loader, without a redundant pre-transfer read. Transfers use bounded 1 MiB reads/writes instead of 64 KiB, reducing full-block syscall counts by up to 16 times. Partial writes remain handled, and uncertain transfers are never retried automatically. A cold boot still needs to load the engine; an already running current engine is reused.
Codex PS5 stays at 0.0.2; no native/backend rebuild or console file replacement is required for this portal improvement. Authentication and workspace data are preserved.
Validation: 182 portal/installer tests, including receipt reuse/invalidation, missing metadata, interrupted publication, partial writes and the SDK stat layout. The stat ABI was derived from the pinned PS5 SDK. The new launch duration remains to be measured on a physical PS5; no specific speedup in wall-clock time is claimed.
Botty+ 1.5.3 — Automatic Codex PS5 updates
Checking Codex PS5 on LAUNCH now installs or updates its native application, local Whisper base model and assistant engine before starting Codex. Previously the portal only checked a manually FTP-installed engine and reused any running service without checking updates.
Downloads use SHA-256-verified 1 MiB blocks, reusing unchanged local content. Installation stages complete components before publication, keeps the previous directories in backups and records a journal to resume interrupted updates. ChatGPT credentials and the workspace remain in place. Native apps must be closed; Botty file processing defers installation.
The bundled Codex PS5 0.0.2 includes GPT 6.1 SOL with low reasoning effort, local voice dictation, conversation rendering and the expanded PS5 administration toolkit. Its loopback control endpoint allows an idle engine to stop cleanly before future updates. For the first migration from the previous engine, fully restart the PS5 after the portal updates its files, then run LAUNCH again with Codex checked. An active conversation is never forcibly killed.
The release includes the complete botty-portal-1.5.3.tar.gz bundle and SHA256SUMS. The Botty PS5 service and native app binaries keep their existing versions. Export only the release bundle when self-hosting; backups and console credentials are excluded.
Validation: 176 portal/installer tests, Codex protocol/Markdown tests, native and backend PS5 builds and verified public package export. The newly added automatic update/control flow has not yet been accepted through LAUNCH on a physical PS5.
Botty+ 1.5.2 — Game cover matching
Botty+ 1.5.2 — Game cover matching
Some tracker releases had no cover because scene tags, special-edition names or
omitted ampersands prevented exact matching against artwork providers.
The artwork resolver now removes stacked scene tags and DLC metadata before
edition suffixes, including PROPER, REPACK, DLC ONLY and Ballpark Edition. Verified
aliases cover eFootball 2027, Sonic Unleashed Recompiled Unofficial Port, Resident
Evil 4 Remake, The Bearer & The Last Flame, Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club, and
WILD HEARTS Karakuri Edition. Verified PlayStation product mappings cover God of
War Sons of Sparta, the 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake, Infliction: Extended Cut,
Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club, and Crazy Chicken Shooter Edition.
This release includes botty-portal-1.5.2.tar.gz, the companion
botty-artwork-1.5.2.tar.gz, and SHA-256 checksums. The PS5 service remains 1.5.1
and the native app remains 01.004.000. Deploy the artwork bundle on the artwork
host, merging its aliases and product mappings into existing configuration as
described in its README. Preserve the existing API key and operator entries.
The portal bundle retains the current PS5 binaries.
Validation includes 14 isolated resolver tests, 162 portal/installer tests, nine
Python release tests, verified public export/package checks, and real provider
lookups. On firmware 13.00, the console artwork API returned complete RGB images
for all 95 current Explore entries after correcting WILD HEARTS. This checks image availability and
the expected RGB response size, not visual correctness for every image or coverage
of all possible searches. Separate per-title checks confirmed the reported fixes.
The corrections were applied to the companion service without restarting the
console or its download/extraction services. Change Explore pages and return to
refresh an already displayed placeholder; failed console lookups can take one
minute to retry. Games absent from the verified providers can still show a title
placeholder.
Botty+ 1.5.1 — Native Offline fix
Botty+ 1.5.1 — Restore native app connectivity
Botty+ could show Offline with service 1.5.0 even when rTorrent and the manager
were responding. The new nested rest-mode object in /health violated the
installed native app’s flat API v1 parser. Service 1.5.1 restores the original
four health fields. Rest-mode details remain in authenticated /api/rest-mode
and /api/state.restMode; maintenance stays enabled on firmware 7.00–13.60.
The native app remains 01.004.000. No game files, saves, archives or torrent
settings are changed. The portal recognizes 1.5.0 and stages the update without
interrupting existing work.
Validation includes the real native probe-to-catalog flow against the host
service, a flat health contract regression, portal upgrade tests, public package
checks and a PS5 build on the VPS. Standby validation remains the firmware 13.00
prototype evidence documented in release 1.5.0.
On firmware 13.00, service 1.5.1 was activated after confirming there was no
active extraction, compression or transfer. All seven staged package files
were read back and hash-verified in raw SELF mode, with the previous service
retained for rollback. The live flat health response, active rest-mode request
and both original torrents were confirmed after activation. Native screen
acceptance is recorded separately.
Botty+ 1.5.0 — Background services in rest mode
Botty+ 1.5.0 — Background services in rest mode
Botty service 1.5.0 renews the PS5 system keep-main request every ten seconds
while the manager runs, including after closing Botty+. This replaces the
ten-minute experimental payload with maintenance tied to the service lifetime.
The feature is enabled on the portal's supported firmware range, 7.00–13.60.
Runtime lookup and request failure leave Botty usable and expose the failure
in the API and web footer. Requests are renewed independently of torrent and
file-operation locks. Stopping the service stops renewals.
On firmware 13.00, user-confirmed rest-mode trials kept FTP, rTorrent and Botty
available. A private generated 8 MiB torrent downloaded in standby and its full
FTP readback matched SHA-256. Both original torrents were retained, and Botty
was Online after wake. Upload, extraction, compression, longer rest periods,
power consumption and other firmwares have not been validated on hardware.
Maintaining the main processor in standby may use more power than deep rest.
The native app remains 01.004.000; rTorrent, ShadowMountPlus, Kstuff and the
optional PPR payload retain their versions. The portal stages service updates
without interrupting a running older service. Use LAUNCH from a fresh console
session to activate 1.5.0 after updating the portal. No game files, saves,
archives or torrent configuration are replaced by this feature.
Validation: host lease/expiry/firmware/stop regressions, service integration
tests, portal upgrade tests, release export/source tests, VPS PS5 build and
verified public package hashes/installer pins. On firmware 13.00, the final
service was installed with rollback and seven raw-mode transfer/hash receipts.
Runtime API lookup and repeated renewals passed: maintenance was still active
130 seconds after activation, and both original torrents remained available.
The standby download/readback evidence comes from the underlying prototype
trials; long production standby sessions remain pending.
Botty+ 1.4.5 — Optional A53 PPR patch
Adds the optional A53 PPR game compatibility patch to Launch options. It is unchecked by default, saved per browser, and disabled above PS5 firmware 11.40. The launcher sends the standard a53_ppr_install.elf after Kstuff and waits for the user to confirm the successful notification before loading ShadowMountPlus. Close games and wait for mounts and unmounts to finish before using it.
The payload is built from pinned, unmodified drakmor/ppr-patch sources with SDK v0.43 on the VPS. Its GPL license, complete corresponding source and provenance are included in the verified portal archive. Existing application and service versions are preserved.
Validation: portal Node tests (including default-off, firmware guard, saved choices and launch ordering), nine Python export/source regressions, upstream PPR state-machine host tests, public hashes and installer pins. UI inspected in the browser. Deployed to the portal; PPR console acceptance is pending.
Botty+ 1.4.4 — Fix web interface updates
Botty+ 1.4.4
Fix the web interface remaining on the old magnet-only screen after an update.
Service 1.4.2 incorrectly loaded web assets from the 1.4.1 directory. Service
1.4.3 loads its own packaged UI, including Upload .torrent. The portal also
recognizes service 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 during upgrades, preserving running work.
Native 01.004.000 and other bundled components retain their versions. Install
through the normal portal workflow. If an older service is already running,
LAUNCH stages the update; reboot and LAUNCH again to start the new version.
Validation covers the PS5 asset directory matching the package version and
upgrade compatibility for both previous services. Portal tests, Python export
tests and all public hashes and installer pins passed. The PS5 service was
cross-built on the VPS with pinned SDK 0.43. Console acceptance is pending.
Botty+ 1.4.3 — Torrent file uploads
Botty+ 1.4.3
The web interface now accepts .torrent files up to 1 MiB alongside magnet
links. Uploads start a normal rTorrent download and appear in Botty+ with the
same progress, pause, resume and extraction controls. With an external disk
connected, choose the destination and download-only or full automatic processing.
Otherwise the download starts on the internal SSD. Invalid metadata is rejected.
This release updates the service to 1.4.2. Native 01.004.000 and other bundled
components retain their existing versions. Existing consoles receive the update
through the normal portal installation workflow. Publishing does not replace
active console services. Actual PS5 acceptance remains pending.
Validation includes an isolated metadata upload to external storage, catalog
visibility, download startup, queue enrollment and invalid-input rejection.
The full host service suite, 151 portal Node tests, nine Python export/source
tests and public package hashes and installer pins passed. The PS5 service was
cross-built on the VPS using the pinned payload SDK 0.43.
