Compilations: when two songs in a row are by different artists, Liner Notes looks for the compilation that has both, in order (Apple Music first, then Discogs), and follows its tracklist.
If it can't find one, a card asks "A compilation?" with Find it (record search, started from the first song), Name it (type the album's name), or Not a compilation. A named album keeps its songs together, including the ones already played, on your shelf too, until the music stops for 20 minutes. Record search also has a "Can't find it?" box to name it.
Best-ofs vs. studio albums: when Shazam names a greatest hits or compilation release, Liner Notes follows the original album first, and the next song settles which one is really playing. Any guessed album gets re-checked when a song turns up out of order.
Singles and 45s: a song Shazam lists as a single follows the single (a 7" from Discogs when there's one), with an A side and a B side on vinyl, so it tells you to flip for the B side.
Your shelf marks singles (45 on vinyl), EPs, best-ofs and compilations.
