Mognitio v0.12.0 adds CLI arguments and text I/O for native programs.

  • Normal entry is Function(List<String>): Int, with strict UTF-8 arguments and explicit exit status 0–255. This replaces the former Unit main.
  • Std\Io provides ordinary functions for whole-file UTF-8 reads/writes and standard streams, with nominal Result errors and operation-owned cleanup.
  • New file permissions follow mode 0666 and OS umask/default ACL rules. Writes may leave partial output after failure.
  • SIGPIPE/SIGXFSZ failures return through the defined error paths. Language tests receive stdin EOF, separate application output from runner reports, and share the filesystem.
  • Includes the file-converter example and fixes for repeated stdin consumption, startup diagnostics, and primary test-failure status.

This is a source release for Linux amd64, with no prebuilt compiler. The compiler host requires glibc 2.34+, SBCL, ASDF, UIOP, and SB-POSIX. Add the source checkout's real bin directory to PATH and use mgn. Ordinary generated ELF executables need neither SBCL nor libc.

Validation: 125 test groups, 6,471 assertions, 935 general-harness processes, and 594 additional Python checks, all passing. The source archive contains 270 checksummed files. All 16 examples were checked, including converter failures, language tests, and standalone execution after removing project sources. See release validation for reproduction and evidence limits.

Release main merge: 2b940c5a8e3e74e405a9fd1b68a94b7dae9478e2 (PR #58). The immutable annotated tag targets this merge commit. Its tree 47b63e4b531cb18fcc7048aa5475b29d78f67af3 matches tested preparation HEAD 95202ac41e74611c75110b6c41583793df94e7c8 and version candidate dbd6e7dca981729604dc2e39338a2fb57fe1a647 (PR #57).

Directory traversal, binary I/O, public File handles, defer, and atomic file writes remain outside this release. Other platforms, physical memory exhaustion recovery, concurrent filesystem replacement, power-loss durability, and performance are not certified. Backwards compatibility is not guaranteed before v1.0.0.
