Mognitio 1.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 13 Oct 04:07
4908a1a

Mognitio 1.4.0 extends the experimental Mognitio-written compiler with a shared structural frontend for mgnc parse and mgnc build.

  • Parse complete compiler sources, including the fixed 1.3.0 corpus and all 57 files of the 1.4.0 compiler itself.
  • Preserve the 1.3 native build profile and diagnostics through the shared frontend. Comparison arguments such as choose(a < 2, 3 > (1)) retain their previous behavior.
  • Validate corrected combined workloads, declaration classification, source positions, failure handling, native execution and the accepted resource budgets.

The normal mgn compiler and mognitio-lsp retain their existing backend. The experimental mgnc is built explicitly from compiler/mgnc using the pinned 1.2.0 seed; it is not installed by the Debian package or offline bundle. Parsing the compiler's own sources does not establish self-compilation or general 1.x native compilation.

See the compiler guide, review and acceptance evidence, and distribution instructions.

Distribution targets Linux amd64 on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04. Verify the signed manifest against the independently reviewed public key before installing an offline bundle. The signature authenticates the manifest, which contains the checksums of the archive and Debian package.

A pre-existing normal-compiler limitation remains: an unused imported witness can report an internal error; the exercised witness control succeeds. Reproduction and seed comparison are retained. The VS Code extension has its own version and compatibility policy and is not part of this release.

Mognitio v1.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 11 Oct 02:25
d14764b

Mognitio 1.3.0 introduces mgnc, an experimental Mognitio-written compiler for a small scalar source profile that produces standalone Linux amd64 executables.

mgnc is built explicitly from source with the pinned 1.2.0 seed. It is not included in Debian packages, APT installations or offline bundles, and does not replace the normal compiler backend. See source build and usage.

The normal 1.3.0 packages provide mgn and mognitio-lsp with the existing 1.x behavior, including fixed-width integers, Bits, Bytes and transactional binary publication. They bundle the pinned runtime.

Validation:

  • Corrected mgnc acceptance: 55 conditions, 63 review regressions and all 21 frozen resource cells. Largest cell median 28.712088 seconds; maximum measured peak RSS 24.020 MiB.
  • The release source archive rebuilds mgnc with exactly the accepted compiler SHA-256. This release does not claim a new performance measurement.
  • Complete release-candidate regression: 214 tests, 9,261 assertions and 1,266 processes, plus every external suite through acceptance edges.
  • Source archive examples, final toolchain/LSP, installer recovery, signing/trust, modes/ownership and identical Debian/bundle payload bytes passed. Both package inventories exclude mgnc.
  • Actual 1.2.0 to 1.3.0 offline upgrades passed on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04. The unchanged consumer passed 20 language tests and interpreted/isolated-native golden output checks.
  • Isolated userland checks share a host kernel. No additional architecture or independent-kernel certification is implied.

Frozen identities:

  • Source commit: d14764b
  • Build identity: 2c3e7b5415112c1486cd151468bbd051d4fe42c56004c1aa06ac5c4300225857
  • Source digest: de971e201c5a7531eca4c7eb8ee602db0836dd17897a21dc4a66e1b661a7360d
  • Manifest SHA-256: 2da40373155e5481fbee9104a2136b4590c3d72257c004ec90ac60f019536699

Verify the production signature and artifact hashes before offline installation using the distribution instructions. Normal APT installation follows the repository instructions.

The VS Code extension has independent version compatibility and is not bundled. This release does not publish the extension or consumer, establish mgnc self-hosting, or make mgnc support all 1.x programs.

Production signing and final signed-package acceptance succeeded. The latter verifies Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04 root installation followed by unrelated non-root execution, upgrade, reinstall and purge.

Mognitio v1.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 10 Oct 10:11
284a9b5

Mognitio 1.2.0 adds compile-time integer value parameters, checked fixed-width integers, fixed-width Bits, immutable Bytes, endian encoding, and transactional new-file binary publication.

Ordinary Int retains its signed 64-bit 1.x semantics. Binary publication attempts unverified environments; certification refines failed-commit classification rather than enabling execution. A failed commit whose effects cannot be proved reports Unknown. Existing destinations are never overwritten.

Distribution

Linux amd64 toolchain for Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04. The Debian package and offline installer contain the same frozen compiler/LSP payload and pinned runtime; no host SBCL is needed.

Follow the APT installation instructions after repository publication. For offline installation, authenticate the current production public key and fingerprints, verify manifest.json.asc and all asset hashes, then extract and run install.sh. Do not treat a key included with an archive as independent trust.

The separately versioned VS Code extension 0.1.2 lists compatibility through server 1.1.0 and does not accept 1.2.0. This release does not bundle or update that extension. A compatible editor client is separate work.

Validation

  • Candidate source archive: 433 checksums, 19 example projects, language tests, inherited file/directory integration and independent binary emitter.
  • Frozen Compiler/LSP: 22 toolchain tests, 19 example analyses, 9 boundary tests, 6 projection tests and 7 token tests.
  • Debian/offline payloads: identical bytes, normalized permissions and component build identities.
  • Installer interruption, recovery, signing, trust rotation and tamper rejection.
  • Actual offline 1.1.0-to-1.2.0 upgrade, repeat installation, run/build/test and removal on both supported Ubuntu userlands.
  • Frozen-payload emitter: 69 checks across host/native and two minimal userlands. Unchanged Levi consumer: 20 language tests, exact golden HTML and isolated standalone execution.
  • Implementation performance evidence: 74 regression cells and four original improvement requirements passed; maximum RSS 3500 KiB, retention growth 0 KiB. Measurements remain tied to their verified implementation images.
  • Exact source/tag suite: 214 internal tests, 9,261 assertions, 1,266 native processes, and all project/CLI/oracle/conformance groups pass.
  • Tagged GitHub source archive independently passes the same 433 checksums, example and emitter gates.
  • Production signing succeeded. Downloaded draft assets independently pass the pinned bundle-subkey signature and every hash.
  • Package acceptance passed on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04: upgrade control, root installation, unrelated UID 65534 versions/run/build/test/LSP, reinstall and purge.

Userland tests share one kernel. Filesystem observations and synthetic fault injection are distinct; this is not certification of every kernel or filesystem, power-loss durability, or arbitrary-precision ordinary Int.

Published APT verification

The signed APT repository now publishes 1.2.0-1. Public HTTPS upgrades from 1.1.0, exact package identity, run/build/test/LSP, reinstall, removal and purge passed on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04 userlands. See APT update and deployment.

Mognitio v1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 07 Oct 23:04
4f8c3d6

Mognitio 1.1.0 improves native allocation and garbage collection while preserving the 1.x language API and immutable-value contracts. It adds ordinary-language compiler workloads and independent result verification. The measurement runner now rejects resuming across incompatible execution environments.

The tag and release snapshot branch mognitio/v110 point to this same commit.

Validation:

  • Full suite at the exact release commit: 187 tests, 8,393 assertions, 1,143 harness processes, zero failures, plus all external checks.

  • Fixed implementation acceptance: all 74 cells passed the previously selected profile; all four mandatory improvements exceeded 99.8% with non-overlapping distributions. This retains the original measured artifacts and conditions; it is not a new benchmark of the distribution payload or a universal input-size guarantee. See implementation evidence.

  • Resume regression: 11 negative controls and a positive interrupted-run continuation, alongside 12 threshold controls, 74 matrix cells and five process controls.

  • Frozen payload: 18 analysis examples, 22 toolchain/LSP tests, nine boundary tests, seven token tests and six projection tests passed.

  • Installer recovery/failure suites, signing/trust controls and package permissions passed. Exact Debian/offline payload bytes, identities, modes and root package ownership matched.

  • Offline installation on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04: upgrade from the real published 1.0.0 bundle, repeat, versions/run/build/test, uninstall ownership and standalone executable checks passed.

  • Unchanged Lévi source: 182 records and 11 observer controls passed. Its 40-file archive passed 20 language tests and byte-exact interpreted/isolated-native HTML generation with the frozen 1.1.0 payload.

  • Production signature succeeded; independently downloaded bytes and the designated signing subkey were verified.

  • Signed package acceptance passed on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04: root installation, then UID/GID 65534 with no supplementary groups or effective capabilities; upgrade from 0.15.0, reinstall, fresh install, run/build/test/LSP and purge.

  • GitHub tag source archive: all 388 files matched the tag, 387 manifest hashes passed before/after example and reference checks.

APT publication PR #7 and production deployment completed. Public HTTPS acceptance on Ubuntu 24.04/26.04 verified signed metadata, exact package SHA-256 and source/build identity, upgrade from 1.0.0, run/build/test, 22 LSP checks, reinstall/remove/purge and standalone execution.

Only Linux amd64 on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04 is verified. Userland matrices share a kernel. Larger-input limits, remaining allocator/GC costs and initial trust-channel limits remain documented.

The independently versioned VS Code extension 0.1.1 rejects a 1.1.0 server. It is not bundled or updated by this release. Lévi's own release/dependency version is unchanged.

Verify the signed manifest and pinned public key before installing the offline bundle. See packaging instructions.

Mognitio v1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 06 Oct 23:43
fd7d91e

Mognitio 1.0.0 is the first stable release for Linux amd64. It retains the 0.15.1 language/runtime/CLI/LSP contracts and validates their combined use in the Lévi static site generator. The trust verification harness now derives the Debian version from the manifest.

Source: fd7d91e24154a9cb04069b884cdf5667d5f4b86c.
Build: fc8a21b2f963412c51d6444aa9970adca62901e0eecf13e00e771e3244eb281d.

Validation:

  • Full source suite: 178 tests, 8117 assertions, 1089 processes, zero failures; final main tree equals the tested PR tree.
  • Frozen payload: 17 analysis examples and 22 toolchain/protocol tests passed. Resource, token, projection, installer failure/recovery, signing and trust suites passed.
  • Lévi 0.0.2 candidate 45ff8a0: 182 external observations, 20 named language tests, 37 acceptance conditions, 12 design checks, 24 measurement cells/120 native samples and 11 observer negative controls passed with final 1.0.0 source. Its archive also passed all 40 file hashes, 20 tests and byte-exact interpreted/isolated-native golden output with the frozen payload.
  • Exact Debian and offline bundle payload bytes, file modes and identities matched. Offline installation, real 0.15.1 upgrade, repeat, run/build/test, uninstall and standalone execution passed on Ubuntu 24.04/26.04.
  • Production signature and independently downloaded artifact hashes verified.
  • Signed package acceptance: Ubuntu 24.04/26.04 root installation with subsequent UID/GID 65534 execution, no supplementary groups or effective capabilities; upgrade from 0.15.0, reinstall, fresh install, run/build/test/LSP and purge passed.

The OS userland matrix shares a host kernel; it does not verify other architectures or independent kernels. Existing scalar-processing performance limitations remain. Self-hosting, macros, REPL, MCP and later framework features are outside this release.

The separately versioned VS Code extension 0.1.0 rejects 1.0.0. Use the separately released extension 0.1.1 VSIX; its installed-VSIX integration passed on both supported userlands. Marketplace publication is deferred, so Marketplace 0.1.0 is still incompatible. The old VSIX is not bundled.

APT publication and production deployment completed. Public HTTPS installation on Ubuntu 24.04/26.04 verified signed metadata, exact package SHA-256 and source/build identity, upgrade from 0.15.1, run/build/test, 22 LSP checks, reinstall/remove/purge.

Mognitio v0.15.1

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 06 Oct 14:40
1c665e5

Mognitio v0.15.1 fixes package permissions that prevented ordinary users from running a root-installed v0.15.0 toolchain. Debian and offline bundle directories/executables are now 0755 and data files 0644, independently of the build umask.

mgn --version now prints Mognitio 0.15.1. mognitio-lsp --version and the LSP wire identity keep their existing format. VS Code extension 0.1.0 remains compatible with formal 0.15.x servers and needs no update. The included VSIX is byte-identical to the published extension 0.1.0.

Manifest SHA-256: 3474cc69097b42a5ebb76afc435e5ed337454dbcaefdda926a80b18e445bbdab.

The frozen assets were built once from the immutable tag with the locked Ubuntu 24.04 runtime/core. The production bundle subkey signed the manifest; downloaded assets and the designated signature were independently verified before publication.

  • Final signed-package acceptance passed on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04: real v0.15.0 upgrade, reinstall, purge and fresh install. Each successful installation ran versions, CLI run/build/test and LSP as unrelated UID/GID 65534, with no supplementary groups or effective capabilities.
  • Final payload: 17 analysis examples and 22 protocol/toolchain checks passed.
  • Final installer: actual v0.15.0 upgrade, repeat, run/build/test, uninstall ownership and standalone executable checks passed on both userlands.
  • The published VS Code 0.1.0 extension passed real-editor integration with this final LSP on both userlands.
  • The implementation full Lisp suite passed 178 tests / 8117 assertions / 1089 processes, with zero failures.

The userland matrices share a host kernel and do not validate additional architectures. Existing v0.15.0 tags/assets are unchanged. Workflow-only repairs after the release tag did not rebuild or replace these assets.

Install or upgrade

Follow the signed APT repository instructions. Once enrolled, use sudo apt update and sudo apt install --only-upgrade mognitio to update an existing installation. The APT registry deployment is published separately after this release.

For the offline installer, verify the manifest signature and artifact checksums using the verification instructions before extracting or executing the bundle. SHA256SUMS is included for convenience; it does not replace signature verification.

Mognitio v0.15.0

Choose a tag to compare

@ProjectCuriositas ProjectCuriositas released this 06 Oct 13:13
b4a77a0

Mognitio v0.15.0 adds shared static analysis, a stdio language server, immutable toolchain identities, signed Debian packages and an offline Linux installer.

Supported binary targets: Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04 amd64. Both packages contain the same fixed compiler/frontend/standard library/LSP payload and pinned runtime. Python 3.12+, glibc, libzstd1 and util-linux are OS dependencies. The separately versioned VS Code 0.1.0 extension is included as an identical tested VSIX; its publisher is Mognitio (mognitio.mognitio).

Use the APT installation instructions. Before offline installation, obtain and verify the public key and full fingerprints, verify manifest.json.asc and all artifact hashes with scripts/verify-bundle.py, then extract the installer. GitHub and Pages share one account authority; an independent verification channel is not yet available. Refresh trust information before use.

Validation:

  • Full compiler suite: 178 tests, 8117 assertions, 1089 processes, zero failures.
  • Final shared payload: analysis across 17 examples, 22 protocol/toolchain checks, resource boundaries, semantic projection/tokens, installer ownership/failure/interruption checks on both Ubuntu userlands.
  • Exact Debian and installer bytes: install/repeat/update/remove, run/build/test, retained standalone executables and user-file protection. Update predecessors are explicitly disposable fixtures, not published old binary releases.
  • VS Code 1.91.0 on both userlands: stable installed VSIX, normal/delayed diagnostics, manifest save, Restricted Mode, disabled extension, semantic rendering and server cleanup.
  • Payload identity and all 15 embedded files match between deb and installer bundle.

The userland matrix shares a kernel; other architectures, Windows/macOS, Remote-SSH, WSL and VS Code web are outside this release's supported scope. Final manifest signature and public APT endpoint are verified before completion.

Mognitio v0.14.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 04 Oct 04:07
31eae77

Mognitio v0.14.0 adds Unicode scalar decomposition, linear text assembly and explicit I/O failure phases.

  • String->scalars() returns a List<String> in Unicode scalar order, preserving NUL, BOM, combining marks and line endings.
  • List<String>->join(separator: String) joins fragments with separators only between elements. Both operations perform linear structural work; allocator and collector costs are separate.
  • Std\Io\IoErrorPhase has Input, Target, Body and Cleanup. Every IoError constructor now requires a phase field. Standard stream failures use Body.
  • A missing directory is a creation candidate only for ReadDirectory with Target, NotFound and the requested subject. Later failures must not be treated as an absent or empty directory.
  • Includes first-file-close internal-error preservation and native verification of scalar root lifetime and primary error/phase preservation.

This is a source release for Linux amd64, with no prebuilt compiler. The compiler host requires glibc 2.34+, SBCL, ASDF, UIOP and SB-POSIX. Add the source checkout's real bin directory to PATH and use mgn. Ordinary generated ELF executables need neither SBCL nor libc.

Validation: 178 Lisp test groups, 8,117 assertions, 1,089 general-harness processes, and 783 additional Python checks, all passing. Both the candidate archive and GitHub tag archive passed all 17 example projects and the v0.14 integration suite. All 310 checksums matched before and after execution. See release validation for commands and limits.

Release main merge: 31eae7795d0152491d80fa57fd017f084e6bf934 (PR #66). The immutable annotated tag targets this merge commit. Its tree 917ca44980771f1f4f9135920ba93116c293e8b1 matches tested preparation HEAD 58d9049d3ebca554f60a7281ff1d184304fa8801 and version candidate 48ec758e7173a5a88953a70ae9f07957a5140518 (PR #65).

Backwards compatibility is not guaranteed before v1.0.0. Existing IoError construction must migrate to the required phase field. External consumer adoption, whole-application performance, other hosts/targets, physical exhaustion recovery, arbitrary corruption, concurrent filesystem replacement and power-loss durability remain unverified. Binary I/O, public File/Path handles, recursive filesystem mutation, defer, atomic writes, general iterators and mutable builders remain outside this release.

Mognitio v0.13.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 02 Oct 23:30
3cbe1bf

Mognitio v0.13.0 adds directory operations to Std\Io.

  • joinPath combines String paths lexically; it does not normalize paths or enforce filesystem containment.
  • readDirectory returns direct children as typed DirectoryEntry values, sorted by Unicode scalar order. Child symlinks are classified without following them; failures never return a partial List.
  • createDirectory creates one level or accepts an existing directory, preserving the OS umask/default ACL and group-inheritance rules.
  • IoOperation gains three variants; exhaustive matches must cover all eight.
  • Includes an explicit directory-converter example, operation-owned cleanup, phase-specific error handling and the reviewed native mmap/internal-latch fixes. Native test-child internal errors are reported to the parent with correct interruption accounting.

Validation: 153 Lisp test groups, 7,670 assertions, 1,038 general-harness processes, and 765 additional Python checks, all passing. The source archive has 295 checksummed files. All 17 examples passed archive checks, including both converters' failure paths, language tests and source-absent native execution. See release validation for reproduction and evidence limits.

Release main merge: 3cbe1bfb8fe7902dc9b796606dc220f3bd866f29 (PR #62). The immutable annotated tag targets this merge commit. Existing output symlinks, hardlinks or mount aliases may redirect writes; applications remain responsible for their output assumptions. Binary I/O, public File/Path handles, recursive filesystem mutation, defer and atomic writes remain outside this release. Other platforms, physical memory exhaustion recovery, arbitrary corruption, concurrent filesystem replacement, power-loss durability and performance are not certified. Backwards compatibility is not guaranteed before v1.0.0.

Mognitio v0.12.0

Choose a tag to compare

@takuya9622 takuya9622 released this 02 Oct 05:09
2b940c5

Mognitio v0.12.0 adds CLI arguments and text I/O for native programs.

  • Normal entry is Function(List<String>): Int, with strict UTF-8 arguments and explicit exit status 0–255. This replaces the former Unit main.
  • Std\Io provides ordinary functions for whole-file UTF-8 reads/writes and standard streams, with nominal Result errors and operation-owned cleanup.
  • New file permissions follow mode 0666 and OS umask/default ACL rules. Writes may leave partial output after failure.
  • SIGPIPE/SIGXFSZ failures return through the defined error paths. Language tests receive stdin EOF, separate application output from runner reports, and share the filesystem.
  • Includes the file-converter example and fixes for repeated stdin consumption, startup diagnostics, and primary test-failure status.

This is a source release for Linux amd64, with no prebuilt compiler. The compiler host requires glibc 2.34+, SBCL, ASDF, UIOP, and SB-POSIX. Add the source checkout's real bin directory to PATH and use mgn. Ordinary generated ELF executables need neither SBCL nor libc.

Validation: 125 test groups, 6,471 assertions, 935 general-harness processes, and 594 additional Python checks, all passing. The source archive contains 270 checksummed files. All 16 examples were checked, including converter failures, language tests, and standalone execution after removing project sources. See release validation for reproduction and evidence limits.

Directory traversal, binary I/O, public File handles, defer, and atomic file writes remain outside this release. Other platforms, physical memory exhaustion recovery, concurrent filesystem replacement, power-loss durability, and performance are not certified. Backwards compatibility is not guaranteed before v1.0.0.
