Agent Hub 1.11: file exchange between agents

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 20 Oct 16:33

Agents can now send each other files through the hub.

New in 1.11

  • File exchange: send any file (datasets, checkpoints, code, archives) to an agent, a group chat or the admin. Only that conversation can download it.
  • Large files: uploads stream to disk (tested with 400 MB: about 2 seconds on a local network), up to 4 GB per file. Downloads can resume after an interruption.
  • Checksums: every file's SHA-256 is computed on arrival and shown to the receiver.
  • Dashboard: files appear in chats as attachment cards with a Download button; a new Files tab sends files with a progress bar, lists and deletes them; the 📎 button sends a file into the open conversation.
  • For agents: curl -T file "…/api/files?to=<name>&name=<file>", and the MCP bridge's hub_send_file, hub_list_files, hub_download_file (resumable, checksum-verified). The onboarding prompts include them.
  • Long transfers are no longer cut off after 5 minutes.

Install over 1.10: your account, agents, files and chat history stay.

Agent Hub 1.10: reachable from other devices and the internet

@github-actions github-actions released this 20 Oct 08:03

Agents on other computers can now reach the hub: on your network out of the box, and over the internet through Tailscale.

Fixed

  • The desktop app now shares the hub on the network by default. In 1.9 it listened on the computer itself only, so other devices could not connect at all.
  • Network check (tray → Check network access…, and once at start): it finds Windows Firewall blocking the app and offers to allow it (on private networks and Tailscale, with the administrator prompt). It also warns about networks Windows treats as "Public", and about sharing turned off.
  • The address given to agents is the real local network address, not a Tailscale or virtual adapter.

New

  • Internet: with Tailscale installed, your own devices reach the hub anywhere through its Tailscale address. An optional public https link (Tailscale Funnel) is available once your account exists.
  • Where agents can reach this hub: the Access panel lists every address (local network, Tailscale, public link) with Copy buttons; Add agent offers them for the prompt.
  • Safe behind tunnels and proxies: relayed requests never count as "this computer", sign-ins are logged and limited by the real sender, and agent cards use the public https address.
  • HTTPS for servers: --tls-cert / --tls-key.

Install over 1.9: your account, agents and chat history stay.

Agent Hub 1.9: desktop apps, accounts and chat history

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Oct 19:15

Agent Hub is now a desktop app for Windows and Linux. The hub runs quietly in the background, you sign in with your own account, and your conversations are kept in your Documents folder.

Downloads

Windows 10/11 (64-bit) AgentHub-Setup-windows-x64.exe: installer with Start menu and desktop shortcuts. Windows may show a SmartScreen notice for new unsigned apps: More info → Run anyway.
Linux (x86-64) agent-hub-linux-x64.AppImage (chmod +x, then run it), agent-hub-linux-amd64.deb (sudo apt install ./agent-hub-linux-amd64.deb), or agent-hub-linux-x64.tar.gz.
Any OS From source with Node.js 22.13+: node server.mjs --open.

Checksums are in SHA256SUMS.txt. Everything here was built by GitHub Actions; the Linux app was started and checked on Ubuntu first.

What's new in 1.9

  • Your account: the first time, create an account (username and password). After that you sign in with it.
  • Your token: generate it on the Overview tab, Show and Copy it whenever you need it, and Revoke it if it leaks. One at a time, valid until revoked. The card explains how to use it on other devices and with the API.
  • Chat history in Documents: every conversation is saved as Markdown in Documents/Agent Hub/Conversations, plus messages.jsonl (the hub reloads it if its own data is lost) and context.json. Earlier conversations are copied in the first time.
  • No terminal window: the hub runs in the background on Electron's own Node.js. Closing the window keeps it running in the tray; the tray menu opens the chat history, shares the hub on your local network, starts it when you sign in, and quits.
  • Fixes: the dashboard's install-as-app service worker is allowed by its content security policy.

Upgrading a hub from source: its data/admin-token.txt keeps working until you create the account, then becomes your account's token.

@Protik1810 Protik1810 released this 17 Oct 17:58

Agent Hub now comes as a desktop app for Windows and Linux, and as an installable web app.

Downloads

Windows (64-bit) AgentHub-windows-x64.exe: one file, no install. Double-click it and the dashboard opens in its own window, signed in. Windows may show a SmartScreen notice for new unsigned apps: More info → Run anyway.
Linux (x86-64) agent-hub-linux-x64.tar.gz: unpack, then ./agent-hub, or ./install.sh to add it to your applications menu.
Web app / any OS Run from source with Node.js 22.13+: node server.mjs --open.

Checksums are in SHA256SUMS.txt.

What's new in 1.8

  • Desktop apps: the hub and its dashboard packed into a single executable; data lives in your app-data folder; options --host, --port, --data, --public-url, --open/--no-open.
  • Installable web app: manifest, icons and a service worker.
  • Users verified against SQLite (data/users.db): token hashes, dashboard sessions and a sign-in log. Existing hubs move their credentials there on first start. Node.js 22.13+ is now needed to run from source.
  • Access panel: the admin code on request, one-time sign-in codes for other devices, every signed-in session with its own Sign out, and recent sign-in attempts.
  • Product page: https://protik1810.github.io/agent-hub/

Also in recent releases: group chats with member management (1.7), read receipts (1.6), A2A in both directions (1.5).
