The SlicerAstro functionality is implemented as multiple plug-in modules, bundled as one downloadable extension as shown in figure:

Before starting developing for SlicerAstro and 3DSlicer, it is advisable to consult the developer manual. This provides many resources such as tutorial and instructions (e.g., how's to use QtCreator and QtDesigner with 3DSlicer).

- Install brew (tested with 1.6.6)
- Install the following with brew: cmake (tested with 3.11.2), Git (2.17.0), Svn (1.10.0)
- Install Xcode (9.4)
- Xquartz (https://www.xquartz.org/ 2.7.11)
- Install qt5.11 with brew. This can not be used for packing. For packing is needed to compile qt from source (see link), however, with this configuration, the compilation of Qt5.10 didn't work.

It is possible to lunch automated tests by typing the following command in the inner-build folders (Slicer-SuperBuild-Debug/Slicer-build and SlicerAstro-SuperBuild-Debug/inner-build):
ctest -j8
For generating binaries (again in the inner-build folders):
cpack -j8
SlicerAstro is an extension of 3DSlicer. Therefore to incorporate SlicerAstro binaries in 3DSlicer, the files has to be moved inside the 3DSlicer package. The SlicerAstro binaries can be included in the 3DSlicer package using the following feature in the extension manager:
