PurplePrint Studio is an unofficial fork of OpenScreen, based on upstream v1.10.0. It is not an OpenScreen, OpenAI, or Anthropic release or endorsement. The upstream MIT license and third-party notices remain included.

This release intentionally has no macOS or Linux installer. Mac users should remain on the previous Mac validation build; do not use the Windows installer. A real Mac recording/edit/export pass, Developer ID signing and notarization have not been completed for PurplePrint Studio.

Changes since 1.10.0-subscription.7

  • Introduces the PurplePrint Studio name and GraphOS-family visual language in the editor and capture UI. The technical app ID, user-data profile, .openscreen projects and openscreen CLI command remain compatible with the fork's earlier builds. Design Coach/MCP project integration is not part of this release.
  • Fixes the packaged transcription demuxer's WASM URL. In local validation, a silent recording no longer produced the transient Failed to fetch toast.
  • Fixes release discovery for this fork's subscription prereleases. The installed .11 app reported “up to date” when checked against the published release list.
  • Shows a localized “Starting…” state while native capture starts and prevents another Record request during that interval. This addresses a Native Windows capture is already running error observed after a second click during startup.

Installation and limits

  • The Windows installer is unsigned. Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. Review the file and checksum before deciding whether to run it; do not disable Windows security protections globally.
  • Back up projects and recordings before upgrading. A direct .7 → .11 upgrade was not separately tested. See the validation correction below for the owner's profile-backup evidence.
  • Users on .7 may need to download this installer manually: that version's update check used GitHub's /releases/latest, which does not return this fork's prereleases. .11 fixes release discovery, but downloading and installing a future update through the app has not yet been tested.
  • The official Codex CLI and Claude Code CLI are optional user-installed and user-authenticated dependencies for subscription routing; neither CLI or account access is bundled. API-key routing remains available. Model availability depends on the connected account and runtime.
  • The owner confirmed a short Windows recording, MP4 export and update check on installed .11. The full physical microphone, system-audio, camera and multi-DPI matrix was not repeated for this build.

Verification

  • Source: merged fork/main commit 529c3b9866e86c7fe320e3066faa882e02a92b05 (identity PR #4, publication-docs PR #5).
  • Clean Windows build 36374180662 rebuilt the WGC helper and compositor, checked the packaged CLI, identity, native payload, transcription WASM, update feed and checksums, and confirmed the installer is unsigned.
  • All 15 checks passed on the identity PR head; the documentation-only publication PR also passed its checks. The local full suite passed 2,257 tests with 4 skipped across 190 files; TypeScript, Vite, docs and i18n checks passed.
  • The downloaded installer is 245,984,369 bytes and matches windows-validation.json, SHA256SUMS-Windows.txt and latest.yml (SHA-512 and size). The owner's installed .11 was tested before the documentation-only publication commits; this final installer was rebuilt from the resulting merge commit but was not reinstalled. No macOS package is attached to this release.

Validation correction · 2026-09-28

An earlier version of these notes and the attached changelog said six active project/recording/config files were hash-identical across the .10 → .11 upgrade. That check mistakenly used an older openscreen profile, not Studio's active openscreen-subscription profile. There was no immediately pre-.11 backup of the active profile, so that cross-upgrade hash claim is withdrawn. The active profile currently contains seven projects. All 19 critical files from the verified pre-.10 active-profile backup are still present; 18 remain hash-identical and one now differs (timing and cause unknown). A new post-.11 backup of the active profile was verified against 5,628 relative paths and file sizes and 29 critical file hashes. These checks do not prove that no file changed during the .11 upgrade. The owner was informed of the correction.

Documentation correction PR #6 was merged as 2f8417044fbee926d3ad1c9825ff326c5df7574f. The attached FORK-CHANGELOG.md was replaced with that corrected document after publication. The release tag and installer remain at 529c3b9866e86c7fe320e3066faa882e02a92b05; GitHub's automatic source archives for that tag retain the earlier wording, so this correction and the updated attachment are authoritative for the validation claim. No application binary was changed.
