This release intentionally has no macOS or Linux installer. Mac users should remain on the previous Mac validation build; do not use the Windows installer. A real Mac recording/edit/export pass, Developer ID signing and notarization have not been completed for PurplePrint Studio.

Changes since 1.10.0-subscription.7

• Introduces the PurplePrint Studio name and GraphOS-family visual language in the editor and capture UI. The technical app ID, user-data profile, .openscreen projects and openscreen CLI command remain compatible with the fork's earlier builds. Design Coach/MCP project integration is not part of this release.
• Fixes the packaged transcription demuxer's WASM URL. In local validation, a silent recording no longer produced the transient Failed to fetch toast.
• Fixes release discovery for this fork's subscription prereleases. The installed .11 app reported “up to date” when checked against the published release list.
• Shows a localized “Starting…” state while native capture starts and prevents another Record request during that interval. This addresses a Native Windows capture is already running error observed after a second click during startup.

Installation and limits

• The Windows installer is unsigned. Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. Review the file and checksum before deciding whether to run it; do not disable Windows security protections globally.
• Back up projects and recordings before upgrading. A direct .7 → .11 upgrade was not separately tested. See the validation correction below for the owner's profile-backup evidence.
• Users on .7 may need to download this installer manually: that version's update check used GitHub's /releases/latest, which does not return this fork's prereleases. .11 fixes release discovery, but downloading and installing a future update through the app has not yet been tested.
• The official Codex CLI and Claude Code CLI are optional user-installed and user-authenticated dependencies for subscription routing; neither CLI or account access is bundled. API-key routing remains available. Model availability depends on the connected account and runtime.
• The owner confirmed a short Windows recording, MP4 export and update check on installed .11. The full physical microphone, system-audio, camera and multi-DPI matrix was not repeated for this build.

Verification

• Source: merged fork/main commit 529c3b9866e86c7fe320e3066faa882e02a92b05 (identity PR #4, publication-docs PR #5).
• Clean Windows build 36374180662 rebuilt the WGC helper and compositor, checked the packaged CLI, identity, native payload, transcription WASM, update feed and checksums, and confirmed the installer is unsigned.
• All 15 checks passed on the identity PR head; the documentation-only publication PR also passed its checks. The local full suite passed 2,257 tests with 4 skipped across 190 files; TypeScript, Vite, docs and i18n checks passed.
• The downloaded installer is 245,984,369 bytes and matches windows-validation.json, SHA256SUMS-Windows.txt and latest.yml (SHA-512 and size). The owner's installed .11 was tested before the documentation-only publication commits; this final installer was rebuilt from the resulting merge commit but was not reinstalled. No macOS package is attached to this release.

Validation correction · 2026-09-28

An earlier version of these notes and the attached changelog said six active project/recording/config files were hash-identical across the .10 → .11 upgrade. That check mistakenly used an older openscreen profile, not Studio's active openscreen-subscription profile. There was no immediately pre-.11 backup of the active profile, so that cross-upgrade hash claim is withdrawn. The active profile currently contains seven projects. All 19 critical files from the verified pre-.10 active-profile backup are still present; 18 remain hash-identical and one now differs (timing and cause unknown). A new post-.11 backup of the active profile was verified against 5,628 relative paths and file sizes and 29 critical file hashes. These checks do not prove that no file changed during the .11 upgrade. The owner was informed of the correction.

Documentation correction PR #6 was merged as 2f8417044fbee926d3ad1c9825ff326c5df7574f. The attached FORK-CHANGELOG.md was replaced with that corrected document after publication. The release tag and installer remain at 529c3b9866e86c7fe320e3066faa882e02a92b05; GitHub's automatic source archives for that tag retain the earlier wording, so this correction and the updated attachment are authoritative for the validation claim. No application binary was changed.

Changes

• Adds GPT-6 Sol, Astra and Luna to the preferred model catalog when the
  connected Codex CLI or OpenAI API actually reports them. A model name does
  not establish account access or remaining quota.
• Displays the published 1,050,000-token context fallback for these exact
  models when the active runtime does not report a more specific limit.
• Uses the Responses API for GPT-6 API tool calls and adjusts reasoning choices
  by model. Astra cannot use none; the UI does not yet expose max.
• Updates the Electron 41 runtime, Tiptap, Vitest and affected transitive
  packages. A clean install and npm audit reported zero known advisories
  at release preparation time.
• Includes a dated upstream review and fixes the required Nix hash check so it
  runs on every PR. Upstream v1.11.0–v1.13.0 fixes were reviewed but not
  merged into this release.

Runtime requirements

Codex CLI and Claude Code remain optional user-installed dependencies;
neither is bundled. The GPT-6 subscription catalog was checked with official
Codex CLI 0.157.1 using the app-owned profile: model/list returned all three
IDs without an inference request. Other accounts or older CLI versions may
show a different list. API-key routing remains available independently.

Validation

• Source tag: v1.10.0-subscription.7, commit

• Release PR #3
  and its CI passed, including tests, typechecks, build, Nix hash and native
  checks. The local full suite passed 2,251 tests with 4 skipped across 189
  files; Biome, docs and locale checks passed.
• On Windows, a 3-second H.264 window recording to a Korean/Japanese/emoji
  path succeeded and stopped in 177 ms. The newly packaged CLI exported a
  Paint fixture to 1920×1080 MP4, and the entire file decoded successfully.
  All 19 expected packaged native files matched their staged source hashes.
• The speech-runtime build
  passed on all four runner legs. The
  macOS package build
  passed for Apple Silicon and Intel. Both jobs checked bundle identity,
  architecture, native payload, signature structure, packaged CLI boot and a
  mountable DMG. Downloaded DMGs matched their CI validation JSON and
  SHA256SUMS-macOS.txt.

Installation and known limits

• Windows installer is unsigned. Windows may show an unknown-publisher or
  SmartScreen warning. Do not disable Windows security protections globally.
• Mac DMGs are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. See the attached
  MACOS-INSTALLATION.md for the per-app first-launch procedure. A real Mac
  has not yet completed the privacy-permission and record → edit → export
  checklist, so the Mac packages remain validation prereleases.
• macOS 13/14 transcription may fail with “Failed to fetch” because the
  fork is still based on upstream v1.10.0's speech helper. Upstream fixed this
  in v1.11.0,
  but this fork has not backported the fix. Wait for a later build if captions
  are essential on those systems.
• This release did not run a paid GPT-6 inference request, nor repeat the full
  physical webcam, microphone, system-audio or multi-DPI checklist.

Installation and limitations

These DMGs are ad-hoc signed with a hardened runtime but are not notarized by Apple. macOS may require installing the app into Applications, then Control-clicking it and choosing Open. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally. See MACOS-INSTALLATION.md for the full steps.

This remains a prerelease because GitHub-hosted runners cannot validate a human-facing macOS privacy flow. A real Mac must still complete Screen Recording/Accessibility permission prompts and a record → edit → export pass. Report that result before treating the package as stable.

Codex CLI and Claude Code are optional user-installed dependencies and are not bundled. This validation release also uses manual installation and manual updates; it does not publish a macOS auto-update ZIP/feed.

This is the first public prerelease of the unofficial
PurplePrintAI/openscreen-subscription fork, based on upstream OpenScreen v1.10.0.
It is independently maintained and is not an upstream, OpenAI, or Anthropic release.

What this fork adds

• Preserves Windows recording paths containing Korean and other non-ASCII text.
• Connects an eligible ChatGPT subscription through the user-installed official
  Codex CLI app-server, without copying subscription credentials or inheriting
  API billing keys.
• Connects the user's installed Claude Code CLI while leaving its authentication
  profile and billing environment under the CLI's control.
• Discovers the Claude model catalog from the local CLI without sending an
  inference prompt.
• Polishes AI chat layout, safe Markdown rendering, streaming, copy and rewind.
• Displays a verified context window for recognized Codex, OpenAI, Claude and
  Anthropic model IDs. Runtime-reported values and explicit context variants take
  priority; unknown/custom gateway IDs remain unknown rather than receiving a guess.
• Keeps the editable history reference separate from the model window. The usage
  numerator estimates selected conversation history only, so the percentage is
  approximate and never triggers automatic compaction.

Runtime requirements

• Windows x64.
• ChatGPT subscription mode requires a locally installed native Codex CLI.
• Claude local mode requires the official native Claude Code CLI 2.1.238 or later
  and an account already signed in through that CLI.
• API-key providers remain available without either subscription CLI.

Neither CLI is bundled in the installer. Model availability, quota and billing
follow the account and provider configuration active in each CLI.

• Packaged Claude Sonnet 5 UI showed a 1M model context window with no renderer errors.
• The packaged CLI exported a fixture to 1920×1080 MP4 and the complete output decoded.
• Packaged metadata, fork updater origin, licenses/notices, 19 native file hashes,
  MCP SDK license, absence of private runtime paths and compositor loading were verified.
• The installer replaced the local .4 copy with .5; AI settings, API credential
  storage, Codex authentication metadata, the existing project and Start menu
  shortcut were preserved. The installed CLI export also decoded completely.

Known limitations

• Unsigned installer. Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning.
• This pass did not repeat the full physical webcam, microphone, system-audio and
  multi-DPI release checklist. The native window capture and package export paths
  were exercised as described above.
• Conversation persistence and provider-native session resume are not added here;
  Claude turns remain ephemeral and OpenScreen replays its selected history.
