OpenScreen Subscription 1.10.0-subscription.6 — macOS validation prerelease

This unofficial fork release adds native macOS packages for both current Mac architectures.

Downloads

  • Apple Silicon — M1, M2, M3, M4 or newer Apple chips: OpenScreen-Subscription-1.10.0-subscription.6-macOS-Apple-Silicon.dmg
  • Intel — Intel processor Macs: OpenScreen-Subscription-1.10.0-subscription.6-macOS-Intel.dmg

Windows users should remain on 1.10.0-subscription.5; this candidate is a Mac validation release.

What changed

  • Adds fork-branded Apple Silicon and Intel DMGs with bundle ID io.github.purpleprintai.openscreen-subscription.
  • Packages native ScreenCaptureKit capture, Metal compositor, pinned LGPL FFmpeg, and the speech runtime for each matching architecture.
  • Finds user-installed Codex and Claude CLIs from common Finder-safe Homebrew and user package-manager paths.
  • Pins speech-runtime provenance to a reviewed successful producer run instead of racing a tag build.
  • Keeps subscription releases out of upstream-oriented build and announcement paths.

Installation and limitations

These DMGs are ad-hoc signed with a hardened runtime but are not notarized by Apple. macOS may require installing the app into Applications, then Control-clicking it and choosing Open. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally. See MACOS-INSTALLATION.md for the full steps.

This remains a prerelease because GitHub-hosted runners cannot validate a human-facing macOS privacy flow. A real Mac must still complete Screen Recording/Accessibility permission prompts and a record → edit → export pass. Report that result before treating the package as stable.

Codex CLI and Claude Code are optional user-installed dependencies and are not bundled. This validation release also uses manual installation and manual updates; it does not publish a macOS auto-update ZIP/feed.

This fork is not an official OpenScreen, OpenAI, or Anthropic release.
